Brand New Platonic Soulmate

article-2421146-1bd6e1f6000005dc-262_634x758 2

Let my heart step out tonight
pirouetting on red shoes,
flouncing and bouncing down the hallway
my chambers pumping in blood-red hues…
Open to life, open to love,
it skips and slides down marble floors.
Every chandelier is a rainbow of light;
the orchestra is playing a heartthrob song
as my heart beats,
to the beat of you and me.
I see you in every portrait
hanging on the gilded walls,
My heart and I do twist and glide
Entering and exiting every single passing door.

I’ll find you again, somewhere before the end.
Waltzing on intuition,
you’re someone out there I’m destined to meet.
I’ve known you in so many forms,
and each time
I think I won’t find another like you….
I do.
But the heart must be free
and I just bought my shoes,
to dance on the Ferris wheel of fate,
grab the ring, that I’ll put on the finger…
of my brand new platonic soulmate.

    • I’m smiling really big David:) Funny how two out of two see this in my poem..well as I said…A romantic platonic relationship is all of that..just unrequited..not part of the “program” doesn’t go there but could be understated in the background..:) There are no rules really..just keep your hands in your pockets haha..❤️ David!

Oh my, the way you write & sway…it’s pure art in the most beautiful way…would you believe that I watched your lines on my screen…the white walls of my room turned into red in a blink…no, I don’t owe a Philip lamp, the one with that hue…it’s when your heart stepped out pirouetting on red shoes…everything in that moment turned into the heartfelt colour red…the imagery you’ve created…is so lively & beautiful I must admit…Brand new platonic soulmate, you’ve magnificently expressed…Karima, I feel happy & blessed…that we’re following each other on WordPress…where I can read your profound writings…dipped in the ink of your being 💫

    • Oh..Navin.. you left me speechless and out of breath..stops her dancing a moment and says..You are one of the most empathetic readers I have ever had..you saw the color red..all the hues,,that I too was seeing while the words poured out of me…leaving a trail of words written in red against the black and white floors..You captured this in your mind while reading me..I love how you just dive in my poems, like an intrepid swimmer in a new lake..in this case I feel you were part of the hallways, the anticipation, the dance the proverbial Ferris wheel. Think you my new friend..I too am so enjoying reading you, knowing you.. being inspired by a mutual respect and admiration for what we both do..and how we express it. Let’s continue…:) 🌹

I love your reply…on top, it’s very much rhyming…and as usual mindful & full of light…”leaving a trail of words written in red against the black and white floors”…I find it beyond beautiful…your writing is red & my blog is black & white…this is how I sense when I read…it could be just my meaning…my rendition…your writing is a deep ocean…diving in is the only way…how it appears on the surface & how it is deep within…the different nuances of light…I know, I would never be able to explore the whole ocean…but that’s also the beauty, isn’t it…I want to say “you’re welcome” but it’s also my pleasure…I’m very grateful at the same fine to read, sense, see & reflect…knowing you more…like you said…”Let’s continue” 💫

I love this entire poem, and this here, “ But the heart must be free
and I just bought my shoes,
to dance on the Ferris wheel of fate,
grab the ring, that I’ll put on the finger…
of my brand new platonic soulmate” Is stunning snd so gorgeous. It is so lovely to reflect upon your verse, in regard to how things come and go, heart always knowing the way, even when mind does not. Lovely, Karima. 🦋🌺🌻❤️

    • Oh yes Jeff, so true when the heart leads… that’s intuition…I trust mine..smiles.. I was telling my friend Dale the other day, how much I miss a Natascha presence in my life…that insane brainstorming we did almost every day,..that nonstop sync in creative thinking we had,,the ease with which we could begin, execute and finish everything we started. We were one without being lovers:) Oh my..it seems that could be a once in a lifetime gift..but my intuition says..I will find that again InshAllah! Thank you for this beautiful comment Jeff..your support and your open heart mean a lot to me❤️🤗🙏🦋

Indeed, I completely agree, my dear friend. And, though there are tears in my eyes for the loss of Natascha, and the oneness you experienced with her resonates deeply with me, I too believe it will come again for you. InshAllah! You’re always welcome, Karima. It is a blessing to be here, and to know you. 💖🤗✨🌹🙏

This is the true Karima I would like to see… pirouetting on red shoes, flouncing and bouncing down… Whether it’s love for your soulmate or your own self, this much intensity is desirable. You paint the shades of emotion very well. I truly enjoyed reading this beautiful poem 😊💖🙏

    • “Here she is!” The Karima of hope and possibilities..the dancer of life, heart repaired, hoping to find that other special soul to create together and just think in unison..I know it won’t be easy..but I believe if I am open, it is possible. I am open:) Thank you Kaushal..for appreciating my poetry:)🙏🌹❤️

    Dearest Karima,
There is always a shroud of mystery to your works that give us a Dylanesque flavor. You have us looking for that hidden meaning whether there is one or not. Merry Christmas. I always think of your mother on Christmas Day.
    Love,

    • Oh Ruco, Merry Christmas to you…I will take you behind the curtain…smiles..I miss Natascha,,,that creative soulmate.that seems impossible to find, but I am more hopeful there is someone like her out there..a perfect creative fit:):) As we said in our movie, The Connection, “Not lovers in the conventional sense; we are creators” Thank you for thinking of my mom..I will be decorating her tomb in SL on the 24th so she will wake up with a rainbow:)

  8. “Plantonic romance” that’s a very cool idea here. I love this opening. You can feel the dance, the song. You write words that can be felt. Beautiful work!
