Paid The Piper

“Dancing into a Second Chance” by Dale Innis

A concertina in the back seats of my mind
passion and grace, the awkward silent space
all has passed now in the fog of forgetting
all becomes a soup of pureed rotting fruit
and yet, I’d raise my hand, to start over again.

Wouldn’t you?

What I didn’t learn when you were by my side,
I’d know with the next one in line; I’d do it just fine,
and the next, a bit better and so on and so on.
Tears and poems, broken hearts, pieces of eight
I paid the piper to dance all night, because it felt right.

Wouldn’t you?

Looping the loop in Life’s way back- play back machine,
My second chance, will be focused on compassion & romance.
This time around, a body is not needed, I’m like a good dream,
I will just be a whirling light, a laugh and tender touch in the night.
I’d be the voice that whispers I love you, and you’d know it was true…

Wouldn’t you?

Lovely. 🙂 The piper having already been paid, we can dance all night? I’ll take it! I’d raise my hand, to start over again, for sure.

This is a great attitude toward life.

    • Why thank you Dale…certainly the perfect image you produced for the feeling… Music brought this thought to me..my muse a total addict for a good song:) “Raise your hand 🙂 ” So glad you enjoyed the end product of my muse making me write this in the middle of dinner sighs:) No telling her…”No”

El amor a veces se convierte en una ruleta de la suerte. Pero uno no se debe dejar morir cuando una relación no funciona.El primer paso a dar cuando el amor termina es aceptarlo y como bien lo dices, se vuelve a empezar. Excelente tu poema Karima.

    Hello dear Karima.
“My second chance, will be focused on compassion & romance.”
I liked this poem. If I had a second chance. “I would loved more, traveled more and had worked less.”

What a most beautiful piece filled with so much love and pain but hope is never forgotten. I love the beautiful image that was created for this piece Karima and what a lovely collaboration.
    The lines:
“all becomes a soup of pureed rotting fruit
and yet, I’d raise my hand, to start over again”.
I think of God and heaven when I read your beautiful piece Karima – We will have rid ourselves of these human flaws and aches and pains and will be replaced with pure love and we will no longer suffer the troubles of this world or past mistakes. Allah/God will have sent us into a world where I believe energy will make it possible to do all things beautiful and we will worship with glad hearts.
“My second chance, will be focused on compassion & romance.
This time around, a body is not needed, I’m like a good dream,”
We will all get to share our dreams and our worldly bodies will not be needed for we will be with God.
What inspiring work and again a gorgeous image of life in the spirit.
Blessings to you both and sending lots of appreciation and love, Joni

    • What a treat it always is for me, to read your own exciting poetry and to savor your generous and delicious comments that you leave for me, for mine.
Yes, I truly believe bodies will not be missed…and direct connections…soul to soul will be the heavenly norm. The image Dale created is truly beautiful and just felt it as the perfect illustration for my thoughts. I honestly believe what comes next for us, is beyond mere words…we can hint at it, try to capture it perhaps in art, but the next stage is transcendent and therefore outside our senses or power of description. Your beautiful comment, sparked so many images and ideas in my own head. Thank you and much love to you Joni too…I treasure you🌹❤️🌹
