I want to share with all of you my passion for Art, that as most of you know does inspire much of my SL poetry. I chose three of my favorite artists and included their works with some slices of Second Life. The original poem came from a conversation with one of them about how we learn to see here in Second Life with a different set of eyes which I penned “Soul Eyes.” Art is a great catalyst for learning to open them and see the world in all its’ radiant beauty. I want to give a special thanks to Chrome Underwood, Scottius Polke and Menubar Memorial for helping me to open up mine.
I hope you all enjoy it…and let me know:) Please choose the highest viewing setting~480p~ to enjoy it in sharper detail and full-screen
I was asked to please write out the poem, so below is the written version
“Soul Eyes”
All the colors of all your art ,
become the shifting portrait of your passion.
Unclassified yet somehow, I’m pushed up,
flat against a waving mural-ed wall.
Tickled by teasing tints ‘n raptures..
I roll in colored sands of sighs and abstract thighs,
watch me, I remove my programmed glasses…
and see you naked and reflected behind the lids of
my soul eyes.
My blindness covered beauty in a thickened darkening
shroud of categories.
I couldn’t see the pretty forest.. for the pretty trees were in the way and especially I couldn’t see your inner beauty that you seemed to give away for free.
There is no gender -prison, no age speed limit, no time’s up..
as far as I can surmise.
I just need to close the old ones shut,
and hear your words as they play out inside my
new born soul eyes.
I bet you weren’t expecting half of this that came
gushing down a hill,
sweeping you away in streams,
paints and brushes flying in the air.
No one could have warned you about my x-ray vision
if they hadn’t ever personally… already been there.
The truth is… Art is alive and walks the streets at night..tempting passer-byes who fall giddy and take-in primary colors with out -of -control sighs.
I smile, because I know it’s been and always will be revealed, Art as the ultimate aphrodisiac, the one that opens my sight to see again…see it all,
through these soul eyes,
All the colors of all your art,
become the shifting portrait of your passion.
Unclassified yet somehow, I’m pushed up
flat against a waving mural-ed wall.
Tickled by teasing tints ‘n raptures..
I roll in colored sands of sighs and abstract thighs,
watch me, I remove my programmed glasses…
and see you naked and reflected behind the lids of
my soul eyes
