Drive! A Randt & Hoisan Production

I want to share with you, the latest and last Randt & Hoisan Production.
It would be the 29th film Nat and I made together. We worked on it for more than 2 years off and on, because of Nat’s deteriorating health.
She had hopes that after her surgery, she would be able to finish it…but she passed away before that could happen.
All the scenes were shot by Nat and some of the first part was also edited by her….then the last 2 minutes were dark. I didn’t have her footage, just some I kept, but I felt it important, to finish it for her..for us. I believe she would have wanted that. I hope you enjoy, Drive!
Fullscreen & HD and the sound up!  Feel free to put a Like or comment on YouTube too:)
This one’s for you Nat!

    A good decision, Karima, I’m sure of it. Nat was all about empowering women and always ready to have a good time in high spirit. Such a fun and strong film! I love your dynamic voice and lyrics, they go so well with the music. And I must say, Nat outdid herself once again with her shots. Those reflections in the rear mirror! The lighting and the driving–wonderful! I smiled and cried at the same time watching it. And sadly, I didn’t get to play the mean cop after all… 😉

    Thank you for this!

    • Ahh so true Joey, and you had your mean cop outfit all ready to go. Hugs! Well…I am glad it’s finished..some of Nat’s incredible camera work is captured now for eternity. It was such a waste to not finish it and how could we miss seeing Nat’s “victory dance” at the end.I’m so glad we shot that part early.. Thank you for all your support when I was so unsure if I should try. Nat, I feel is smiling but shaking her head at my Gigantic Title font in English…I can hear her saying, “maaan what were you thinking? hehe:)

      ~~~~~*****~~~~~
      Going left to get to the right place
      Where did you say we were?
      All my life I’m getting lost
      Following someone else’s route
      Roadmap to war and peace Roadmap to love and pain
      Forgot the safety tips for traveling
      Stopped three times by those mean police
      I am the best of highway fibbers
      Which puts me on the road again.
      The accelerator to the floor now
      World take care for here I am!
      Talk my way out of a paper bag
      Talk my way to his Majesty’s door
      Forget the safety tips for traveling
      Flying down the highway full bore..
      I taught myself to drive from the other side
      No longer the shotgun, or backseat baby
      I have the wheel glued to my hands
      I feel the rich night rushing in
      I said, “Stop. I’ll drive from here.”
      I said, “Stop. Now let him out.”
      Forget the safety tips for traveling
      I’m about to cross our dream’s frontier.
      Even though my hair is wrapped I feel the breeze
      now I have the power in my hands of this machine
      On any highway I see.. I ride in my own destiny
      and I dare anyone to say it’s not that way
      The keys for my car unlock more than its’ door
      You know that and I know that and so do many more
      I can drive to the sun and I can drive to the moon
      I would drive to you, but only if I wanted to.
      I stay up late, and ride my poetry car
      I gun it then I wheel it in
      make it drift and make it spin, while wheels roar
      Still not feeling full or satisfied.
      Hold an image across the sea
      Hold an idea, with the window down
      Forget the safety tips for traveling
      A cold air blast of clarity, full moons me
      I taught myself to drive from the other side
      No longer the shotgun, or backseat baby
      I have the wheel glued to my hands
      I feel the rich night rushing in
      I said, “Stop. I’ll drive from here.”
      I said, “Stop. Now let him out.”
      Forget the safety tips for traveling
      We’re about to cross our dream’s frontier.
I am feeling happy now..that people can see the film, at least how it turned out for circumstances beyond our control..but it’s published and I feel a sense of completion.. I really am grateful for your support always, and hope to catch up with what you have been writing lately too..Hugs!🤗🙏🌹🦋
    This is a fantastic video, Karima! A beautiful tribute to Natascha. The first idea after seeing this video came to my mind was that Nat, wherever she is now, must be more than happy to see this creation. I was overwhelmed with both joy and sorrow together. I liked and commented on YouTube also. Thanks a lot for sharing this post. 💐💖🙏
    • Oh Kaushal..what a wonderful comment and thank you so much for putting it on YouTube too.When I read your words, “a beautiful tribute to Natascha” I feel certain that finishing this on my own, was the right thing to do..Natascha always called our videos, our “babies” and this baby had waited way too long to be born..If I could give it a little push and make Nat live in her incredible camera angles, her eye for details and her strong editing in the first part, then I think I did have to give that push… Now our baby has been presented to the world…against many odds..it was born. and Nat’s happy spontaneous dance at the end..has more then one meaning:) Thank you so much for being close and caring!🙏❤️🤗
        You’re always welcome, Karima. Though I have seen neither you nor Nat, but I can very well imagine the bonding you two had. Yes, the baby is out, so cute and sweet. Stay blessed 😊💐❤️
  11. Love the flavor of the music and the words, too! Good work! You can do so much musically and poetically!
    • Oh yes…the music was so fitting for my poem..I must have listened to 100 tracks that I could use without copyright problems..and when I finally heard this one Bingo!! My poem fit perfectly:) Media/Video is a great way to put poems to music which as you know, I love to do.. but Nat was the Master of the visual…without her..these movies would have been so much less:) Thank you for watching it Ben…means a lot❤️🙏
