Let me share something a little lighter with you today..a short video poem filmed by me in my room. What can I say? I am prone to these eccentricities and this is one that gives me uber pleasure. I hope you will watch and Enjoy! Open wide your imaginations… a little wider please:):)
The words of the poem are below:):) Click Play!!
In My Element
I’m all about water
my origins
my composition
my loves
water always plays a big part
A Pisces in the star charts
after I go swimming
90 minutes at a time
5 times a week
I luxuriate
under a warm shower
take as long as I want
wrapped in aquatic jets
that hang off of me like
liquid moving tinsel.
Then…
I fall on my bed
to finally rest
and look up
at helium balloons
weighted down by precious
sea creatures
who slowly rotate,
twist and glide gently
in the breeze (in ocean currents)
that I write in parentheses
My hair still wet and dripping
I bring the ocean with me
After all, it’s what I am about
Just look how I live
if you don’t believe me.
The underwater sounds
temporarily drown out bird calls
I choose to feel
I’m underwater
when I’m underwater
I am completely
in my element.
The slight movement
of the tranquil sea
The surprising movement
from a passing ship
or
a storm that’s twisting in
churning us into quick
darting, spinning, grinning
creatures of the sea/
I am grinning
I am spinning
too
totally at peace.
here below the surface
in my liquid underwater
world
definitely…in my element.

Thank you David for your words and also your concern for my pillow….;)Yes when I bring the sea to my room, nothing escapes getting wet..Pillows become sponges and fall to the sea floor..I swim down and find them later and lay my head…All is good in my world.🐠

you are good at creating your own world (many of them in fact!), and this one is so peaceful, yet also virtuous, because first you have completed your healthful & sensual care of the body. lucky body gets to be snuggled up in a cozy world-viewing bed🌎🌍🌏ah, the holistic life!🤗💕🦋🎈🎈🎈

Thank you soulkin, and yes, my reward for moving this body around is to return to this room, observing the world, blowing bubbles and feeling very much in my element. You know me well:)💃🏻🎈🐠🌈🌊🏊♀️

Totally agreed Cassa. Even imaginary underwater, using helium balloons is so lovely too…in its own right…really water currents and air currents, move things so similarly.

Water!! The elixer of all life! You nailed this one! I’ve known for years, your connections to water even in your virtual life. Interestingly enough I am reading a wonderful book entitled The Covenant of Water. The author says, “All water is connected and only land and people are disconnected. And then you created this while I was reading that. You are always surrounded by magic Ruca!

Hope you’re feeling even better than when you wrote this Cindy. Yes sometimes when we’re sick, falling into fantasy, indulging ourselves on comforting things really does help us keep a better attitude while feeling lousy. Feel better soon my friend. You are a treasure here on WordPress and I’m very sure, everywhere you go. Salaamtek!! “ To your health!”

I have a soft spot for any writing that focuses on that amazing essence of life that is water so this certainly is no exception. I love how the final lines are so reflective and confident at the same time and how the overall world of this poem comes so vividly to life! ❤
