Gino maybe 1992
My dear lifetime friend and fabulous designer and sketch artist who passed away on Jan 12 2020 would have been 90 years old today.
As you recall I built a virtual world, Gino’s Butterfly on Kitely soon after his death on Kitely Virtual Worlds. Gino’s Butterfly Hosts Hypergrid Safari
Well Kimm Star a Virtual world creator and 3D artist saw Gino’s sketches and totally fell in love. She came to me recently and asked if she could use some of his drawings to stage a Fashion Show circa 1960 of Gino’s sketches at the OpenSim Worlds Fair 2025.
This is a big deal in the virtual world and she is planning something so fantastic, I think Gino could attempt to return from the Dead to see it!! It really wouldn’t surprise me 🙂
I want to give you a sneak peak , a small teaser but the actual show will run from March 1-March 30 2025. It will be automated and it will be innovative!

When Kimm asked me to go and see what she was doing,.I had no idea of what I would find..When I saw what she had done with Gino’s sketches… I cried..I could hardly talk and all I could think was, omg how would Gino have loved to see this day..his sketches turned into Live Models..who will walk the catwalk at the Opensim Fair 2025 !

It was more like obsessed when I saw all of those wonderfully vintage fashion model drawings. Life is a wonderous thing and when it crisscrosses with the metaverse, it’s magic. I love creating interesting vignettes in Opensim as much as I love making people happy. I am so happy you are pleased. PS All of the stage fashion is completed. I would love to make an animesh of you as well. We will talk. I want all of us to be sitting at a table wearing some of the more casual outfits he created.

Ohh wow…I am honored and yes I would love an Animesh of Donna Leviash Almahadin aka Karima Hoisan:) I will get you some pictures…I can’t wait..Please just send a msg and I will come in anytime.. Karima, I am so excited for you and for your amazing talent to be recognized by someone whom you have a lot of respect for as well. Gino’s Butterfly is one of my favorite works of yours, and I remember watching it with Scott and us both crying and trying to imagine what it must have been like for everyone there. What a sweet-natured woman you are, I know you loved him but we love our children and even most of us still need our privacy once in a while. You have one of the sweetest and most giving hearts of anyone I know.
This is an amazing thing that this woman is doing, and obviously, she is a big fan of yours as well. It is such an honor for you, your work, and Gino’s fashions to come a live in such a prestigious venue where so many people who do what you do will see it. The preview is magnificent and I love all the fashions. It is truly amazing what she did. I love the way they all move and they look just like the models.
For anyone who doesn’t know anything about this, you may want to go into the link that she supplied so that you can read about what will be going on. It sounds very exciting and again, this is a great honor.
Karima, thank you for sharing this with us, it is wonderful news and I am so proud of you and what you did with your original work – showcasing Gino’s work because of the admiration and love you had for him and also for the kindness of just wanting to share someone else’s amazing talents. That is the woman I know and love.
A big thanks to Kimm Star and her acknowledgment of not only Karima’s work but Gino’s gift with fashion.
Just one more thing, Karima and your son, as well, it truly touched my heart to see that you had planted wildflowers around Gino’s grave instead of buying some florist flowers, etc. Another especially kind thing to do and thank you for sharing that with us as well.

Oh Joni, it truly is amazing what Kimm is doing and has done,..,,Besides the models dressed in Gino..she is creating a beautiful venue for the Fashion Show and a reserved table with champagne hehe..for Herself, James, Gino and yors truly, dressed in a Gino creation!! I am so excited,,,I am so glad you and Scott loved the movie Gino’s Butterfly…It does give a sense of the man in his life and I agree…the ending make me choke up too. I am very excited about this and think it’s quite the tribute to your workas well as Gino’s. How exciting that you guys will be there and that you’ll be wearing one of his collection pieces I’m excited about the whole thing. I hope that you’re going to include the entire video for people to watch as many might not be able to watch it the day that it actually takes place. It sounds like not only an opportunity for people to see some of the best people in the field, but also people to learn quite a bit as well. This all happened because of you, Karima, I know you’re a humble person, but it’s true. If you had not created Gino’s butterfly this talented woman would never have seen the work and never have asked permission to use his fashions to make the models come alive. There were so many different outfits that you showed when you and your team worked on that amazing show. I think you will always be one of my favorite pieces, although Klara, I hope I am spelling that correctly, I really believe should be on TV as a short. The work that you did on that is literally masterful and belongs where everyone can see it, people that don’t know anything about what you do would be people that would watch this and all there’s so many lessons in that piece that you did and worked on so hard in fact, Dale worked very hard on this with you and this was another piece that I could not stop crying while watching it touched my heart the whole time I was watching it and wondered what was coming next. It’s when you go back to over and over again you need to otherwise you might miss something so important. I am so excited that Kimm saw your beautiful work and a big thanks to all the other contributors and that she decided to highlight this with the new technology that’s out there. Congratulations again, my friend. I am sending you big hugs lots of love and just so grateful to know you. Scott and I were talking about what a humble woman you were and how many amazing experiences you’ve had in your life and also the people that you have known that you would never tell anybody unless it just happened to come up in a story. People that are such icons to people like myself. Anyway, you’re a pretty unique and amazing person and I’m very blessed to know you, Praise God!!!!

Thank you Dawn..well Kimm is the artist who has turned Gino’s drawings into models…I’m just a back seat driver hehe, but I get to be sitting at the big table, with her and Gino & James.,..,.wearing Gino!!! She is creating my avatar from a picture of me at that time (23 years old) So exciting!!
