“Going Down…” by Karima Hoisan on YouTube

Hi everyone,

I have something pretty new and unusual to share with you today:)

Going Down is a poem/video for and about our Earth.

In every way, it is something very different from what I usually do:)

I felt guided (pulled is a better word) to make this film and write this poem.

It is a warning and  I composed the Industrial Music on Garage Band, to reflect it

Disclaimer, in a scene with a doll in a boat it looks like crosses are floating up. These are just particles being released from the scripted boat, and not meant to be any religious metaphor.

A special Thanks to Dale Innis who helped me create this world, “The Wizard” on Kitely Virtual Worlds and a special thanks to Kurk Mumfuzz for his many particles,  used here,  especially  the bouncing balls and the fog at the end. Please watch in fullscreen and 4K.Enjoy! Let me know here there everywhere…if you did:)

I will write out the poem, for those of you who would like to translate it:)

“Going Down”

You didn’t notice while you were sleeping

or fighting, or killing each other.

The Earth was sighing  giving up and

and saying ”it’s just too much!”

I’m going down…and she left her orbit

and let herself fall  to be carried by the tides.

It was almost  past the point of even  trying.

Earth’s entire population went to sleep

as they  fell lower, and lower.

They chose not to see reality,

this cosmic  drama unfolding.

The Earth was in pain,

but nobody was listening

The few that did wake up,

watched in horror

and felt too helpless

Lulled by pretty colors…

most  stayed in their dreams

Speeding into eternity,

ploughing through  the natural disasters,

which felt anything but natural to her,

Earth saw the small and weak

cut down too young,

the injustice of the haves

over the have nots

Earth felt the fever that was rising.

She welcomed the flood waters of the end

Every fire burned her, every bomb  broke her open…

Some might say.,

“Well  all that is  just on the surface,

the Earth can bounce back.”

The tipping point was when she could bounce back

but didn’t,

going down and starting over seemed the only way..

She let herself sink back into everything from where she came.

Mercy was the last word on her mind.

powerful, awakening, & sad. beautiful & sad. so well said, soulkin💞💖others have said much the same, so there are more of us than we may realize. we will raise our voices & fists when the time for that comes. until then, we will speak, & urge & point out positive possibilities. we will not be silenced but will be more vocal than ever. we are beginning this now🙏🏼🌹

    • Wow soulkin, once awake…it is impossible to go back to sleep. I have just been caught up in the “awakening” and yes, every day there are more of us..and we should not be afraid to be heard. Big Hugs…I told you last week that this time reminds me of another time, when I was so much younger.. but could see a wave sweeping, especially the young, and we spoke out and we said what was on our minds and in our dreams. Big hugs to you and I vibrated totally to your words:) Thank you.

Agggh, powerful and appropriate and dark… It does feel like starting over from nothing would be a good idea some days! May more of us wake up before it comes to that. Striking and beautifully done, as ever.

    • Ahh thank you Dale ..it does feel like I woke up suddenly , threw out the cute music piece and poem I was working on and changed horses in midstream..and this music was born, first , then the video and last the poem came today. Wow, for me I could hardly believe it…My muse or something for sure wanted to talk about waking up…and doing something…before a total restart is needed. I really enjoyed your comment!!

    • Thank you for watching AJ..this one came into my life like a flash flood. I had just finished another musical piece and was beginning a film, when I woke up with the thought..it was not what I wanted to say..and I threw all the other out… and said this.

    • Awww thank you Cindy… I tried my best, especially to please my muse who was whipping me on to tackle this very heavy topic and I felt slightly unprepared for it. I am glad you enjoyed the music.. You , who have heard all my recorded poems and videos almost, know that Industrial Music is something I hadn’t dabbled in until now:) The world Dale and I created 4 years ago, The Wizard, is just gorgeous on its own..and felt like the perfect setting for the Earth’s demise:(Thank you Cindy for inspiring me to trust that muse of mine:) I appreciate your comment so much 🤗

Dearest Karima, what an introspective and well written peace about the state of our Earth today. I think your poem is a very honest one and points out many important things that people should be thinking about not just once in a while but every day. I like the way that you did this video showing the squirrel and talking about how the earth was in a lot of pain with lots of disasters bombing, floods, and natural disasters all around. It is very sad how the people seem completely indifferent to what was happening around them, and so the earth simply went to sleep. There is a lot of symbolism in this piece almost like the Earth is trying to come back with the purple plants and vines thriving to grow around what appears to be a dying earth and yet no one seems to care. The injustices that you mentioned are everywhere and our whole planet truly is crying out not just for the sake of the health of our planet, but for what is taking place and the lack of humanity that exist today. The rolling Globe that you showed that sort of fell down a deep hole and found itself in what looked like a lava flow with rocks on the side or mountains made of rocks. My favorite thing is the way you made the elongated body that I took to be the combined consciousness of the last people living, and the last thought that was whispered was “mercy”. The blue butterfly was particularly symbolic as it flapped It’s wings. To me, this is the end of the Earth and the spirits getting ready to go to their resting place. Dale did a great job with this as well. He never disappoints. I think you could not have picked a better time to do a piece like this Karima and I’m so glad that you did. We are living in frightening times and people can continue to close their eyes and ignore what is happening, not only to our earth, but to our world in general. It’s hard to talk about such difficult things in a creative way and to let one use their own mind to interpret this poetic presentation and yet you accomplish that. Thank you, both Dale and Karima for sharing this piece of work with us. I truly hope that people will stop watch and think about the words in this honest peace. Sending you lots of love hugs and prayers.

    • Oh Joni, thank you my dear friend, who jumps into my movies and lives them almost from the inside:) Yes the video is meant to be a warning..Sometimes we think that tipping point of no return is very far away.. but I am seeing it closer and closer every day. When we talk I will tell you how this video came about..why I made it, why I used such dark Industrial music,, as you know, this music is so uncharacteristic of me. The movie hints at all the things you saw the injustices, the wars, natural disasters…etc. I agree these are unpredictable and very unstable,(Frightening) times. You know me so well, it’s rare I go into subjects like this because as you say, it’s hard to talk about it in a creative way. Yes can talk about the ending, but those two things for me, the morphology butterfly and the talk human like figure mean a lot to me. I like , like you did, for all to form their own interpretations.. I love that actually… Much love and prayers to you dear Joni & Scott:)
