Evil Reigns

Sorry to write this but…I’m a poet and sometimes I can’t shut up 🙁

Evil Reigns

138 more shot down today

Where is the world?

This is happening every day

Is there no way to stop it?

How can this be, I say?

Praying for a Comet to crash…

The mad king making it go his way

“Now, put your hands up over your heads!”

Soon there will be no one left to save..

“All is going to plan, good has lost & evil reigns.”

So apt; the times are dark indeed. It seems wrong somehow to “like” this, but the words are so appropriate.

Dear Karima. I worry for my world also. The rest of this year in the USA will become very difficult. I hope you are doing well and enjoying the days of July.

    This is indeed very tragic

We are living in horrific times that require great strength to endure.

    Oh so sad and heartbreaking…😔😔😔

    • Really… hard to even find the words sometime… sometimes I’m just stuck in disbelief.. Thank you Mich… The world needs hugs and lots of love 🤗

  6. In the short term I expect evil to continue to cause immense suffering and death, and the destruction of both property and environment. We are more than a generation away from the last world war and few around who can describe it, even fewer who are alive and know what led to it. We seem to go through cycles where we have to think again about values and how we treat others. The evil and hatred expressed by some leaders today will challenge and I think could lead to a more stable world in the future. It is easy to feel overwhelmed by the horrors, but I also listen to the stories of those in Ukraine, in Gaza and the West Bank, those who struggle in Sudan. Their hope and resilience gives me belief that we shall overcome evil and find a new peace.

It truly is heartbreaking to see.

Oof, such an apt piece despite its surreal nature. Can’t quite wrap my head completely around the state of the world these days. 🤗

  10. You and me both, Karima. It truly get it and I can’t keep quiet either. We need to share what’s in your hearts. It’s so very sad! Powerfully and understandably shared! Big hugs! 🤗

    • Crying, wailing, screaming, and falling into hysterics doesn’t solve anything. It just makes YOU feel like you’re doing something when, in reality, you have no solutions at all. See my response to Karima above.

Wow, Dawn, that seems really unnecessary. No one is “Crying, wailing, screaming, and falling into hysterics” here; people are simply expressing their feelings about a terrible situation! Have the simple humanity to respect that. Maybe YOU feel somehow more powerful when you write insulting things in blog comments, but it certainly doesn’t help any. I’m sure you can do better.

    • Thank you Cindy, for just being you and true to yourself, and for your support. I think this used to be a very safe place to do that, but it seems that concept has changed. Some no longer respect that rule and I am very sorry to see this. Hugs and admiration Cindy…Love Karima❤️🤗

      • You’re so very welcome,Karima! Absolutely, I can’t be anything but honest with my feelings and love of the people in our world and concern about the direction it is going if we don’t speak up! We cannot be bullied into submission and when hate threatens our rights, health care and people remain apathetic and are ok with what’s not ok, that’s when we’re in trouble. You just have to look at our past history to see that. Sadly, it does seem it’s seeped into our sacred space at WP which generally doesn’t happen which is sad but there is more acceptance than not so we will continue to lift each other up. 🩷🩷🩷

      • Thank you again for your friendship and your support Cindy. 🤗💕🙏

      • Always, Karima! Always! 🩷

  11. What is your solution? I see people cry, wail, and carry on in hysterics, but they offer no solutions. Crying doesn’t cut the mustard. Screaming doesn’t accomplish anything. You lived in the Middle East. You know what it’s like. As I’ve already said: until both sides stop the HATE, there will be no peace. The United States is not to blame. We are trying our best to bring about peace, but people don’t appreciate it.

    • This is not about politics or religious differences, this is about the utter lack of caring for human lives,, the utter lack of humanity. My family is Jewish by the way and they are not in agreement with what is happening in their name..so my blog is not a forum for political discussion.. It’s a creative poetry blog I’d like to keep political discussions out of it..

Just what are you trying to accomplish here, Dawn? Is there some rule that no one is allowed to decry a tragedy unless they have a solution for it in hand, and you’re the official enforcer? And why bring the US into it, no one mentioned them (and they don’t have a solution either apparently)? Maybe your own reaction to feeling helpless is to yell at people on the Internet; but there are much better ways of dealing with it.
