“Field Trip” by Dale Innis
Field Trip
Sheldon on the left,
was the first to go in.
“I can learn about new things
I’m bigger than the rest.”
Cindy stands in awe
she saw this in a dream
her feet patter on the wood
“Horsie,” she whispers.
Trina is impressed with height
her house is small and low
“How do they get the lights up there?”
She ponders in that jumbo room
Skye is now border-line afraid.
His teacher is not there at all…
The men in that TV are very scary
“Mommy!!!!!!!” he calls.

Haha..thank you Colin..I tried to jump inside each one for a minute..The image inspired me at first sight.. Such a great visual composition!
You are very welcome! I think you captured the wonder beautifully!! 🙂 🙂
Awww thank you..oh yes, “wonder” is the perfect word. I can still remember the awe and wonder of going to a museum as a small child.
I liked your thought process, so real and natural! A beautiful Collab and nice presentation, Karima 👌👌👌
Once again my sincere thanks for reading and commenting Kaushal. This Art that Dale is producing is sooo inspiring to me. Eclectic, fun, thought-provoking and just plain beautiful. I think as long as there are new images, my poetry stream will be along too :):)
Ha, I love this! You’ve captured just why I liked this image; the individual tiny-person’s wonder at, and/or simultaneous fear of, strange new things. Like art galleries! The men in that TV. 🙂
Haha yes what could they all be thinking? I was so struck with this image, I put it up in the virtual gallery as soon as I saw it..I also announced…this will be a poem but for now I have no idea what…..took a few days, but my intuition was right…more a grouping of inner conversations than poetry…but it felt right. Thanks Dale for all your wonderful art! 🙏
Wonderful image, and prose, Karima. A perfect balance of emotions and inquisitiveness. 🙂
Aren’t they adorable? Curious and cautious…such a great image from Dale…so glad you enjoyed my captions:) Thank you for commenting, Jeff🙏🌹

Hello Karima! Thanks for your share which is so real of field trips as I remember. How small we’ve been in the huge world. Enjoy your weekend.❤️❤️❤️
Thank you AOC:) Yes, I took my share of field trips and was totally afraid of the bears in the dioramas::) When I saw Dale’s image, I knew I had to put some thought bubbles over each little head.. Kids are so adorable, love their innocence, curious but cautious..some in full panic mode when introduced to a huge museum or gallery. Love your line…I remember being small in large spaces too:)
It’s quite fascinating how Dale creates such an amazing image & then you write these beautiful lines to give it extra depth…Great collab the duo of Karima & Dale 👏✨💟
Thanks so much my friend…yes it’s interesting, the art Dale is producing is very inspiring to me..many poems, a whole virtual world and a YouTube storybook have come about because of it.:) It speaks to me:) 🌹🦋🌹
You’re welcome, dear friend…it’s a beautiful & inspirational world…filled with so much artistic creativity…keep expressing ✨💟✨
