My Ramadan Poem is up on Spillwords

Running-on-Empty-spillwords
Hi everyone,
Ramadan Kareeem!

I am happy to share my new poem, “Running on Empty” that is up on Spillwords Press today. Many Thanks once again to Dagmara K. and all the folks at Spillwords for publishing my poem. I am honored to be there. Please ❤️ it if you liked it:)

Running on Empty
The new moon proclaims the time
Ramadan is on our lips and in the air.
From the first day we begin our fast,
food and drink are replaced by prayer…..

Please go to their site to finish reading it:) Spillwords
Have a great week!

    • Thank you so much Layla for reading and enjoying my Ramadan poem. A few years ago I wrote a Ramadan poem which said I compared myself to a bird except: “the less I ate, the higher I flew” I am so glad you enjoyed the flow of the poem too:):)

  11. Thank you so much Grace, for your sweet comment and for your congratulations too. Yes, as another friend of mine said on fb, this is a part I show very rarely and write poems about rarely too…but yes, very much a part of my whole and in this time..I love how my life changes. For me Ramadan is complete when I am in Jordan with the whole family. I miss that, the communal breaking of fast, the lavish dinners, but even here alone, there is a peaceful calm that settles over and it’s almost indescribable.. but I love it):) Thank you my sweet friend for reading and commenting 🌙🌹🤗🌙 Ramadan Kareem!!

Magnificent, dearest Karima. I love the inner calm, and tranquility that comes over me as I reflect upon your words, and the manifestation of silence and serenity in the space you describe. Gods bless you. Happy Ramadan to you, and yours, my friend. 🙏🤗❤️
