Balance” by Dale Innis on Midjourney
Balance & Symmetry
Balance and Symmetry
perfect meter, perfect pitch
picture frames hanging straight
colors that blend just because they do.
Pleasing voice tones, soft words
notes of deep emotion, that make you cry
textures blending naturally
a gentle manner, beautiful eyes
Perfect shapes, lines that are straight
curves and calligraphy, darkness & light
A heart-stopping sunset, art that makes me breathless
pastels beautifully subdued or colorful & bright
I am so sensitive, all these things make me feel pleased
and when they are the opposite, they make me grind my teeth

Me too! 🙂 Very well put. I think my set of ideally pleasing things (and utterly the opposite) is somewhat different from yours, but also with lots of overlap. “curves and calligraphy, darkness & light”, for certain!

Thanks Dale and for the image too, which I Love!! Yes, I am sure each of us will have our own list of things, but in the end they can really affect us, for good or for bad:):) Funny how that works:)

I love this. I was talking to a friend of mine today about my sensitivity, and how I covered it up out of shame for such a long time, and how glorious it is today to be connected to this most important and special gift. Sensitive attuneness is a miracle. Gorgeous piece, Karima. 🌹🤗❤️

Aww so glad you love it Jeff! Yes in times not too far gone, men were not allowed to be sensitive…Wow! Whoever made that up?? Sensitivity is a gift, you have it and your wonderful poetry reflects it. You are lucky…and so is most of this community of poets is lucky:) Thank you for this great comment on my little piece.

Yes! That balance is what we all need. Takes some time getting there, and flowing through the ups and downs. Great piece! Hope you’re doing well!

Hi Ben, great to see your comment and yes..balance and symmetry are always so pleasing for me. We all do need to find our balance…and as you say, it’s an ongoing process:) I’m doing well..in my last week of Ramadan…thanks for asking:)

your words resonate deeply with me Karima … and oh my, Dale’s art! It is such a balance of colour and delicate design kinda resembling a butterfly, a beetle counterbalancing each other. wondrous!

Aww thank you so much Kate and yes..this poem was born 100% looking at Dale’s image.. I had it on my desktop two days and then realized it was trying to be a poem:) Yes a butterfly-beetle symmetric but not exactly and yes balanced. A very lovely image for sure.
