“Sunset Pool” by Dale Innis on ChatGPT AI Art
Please Listen to my poem recited to my own electronic music. If you want to read along, I will put the words below, but this is a piece made to be listened to and not just read. You can also DANCE to it:)
Swimming at The Very Edge of Night
Swimming at the very edge of night
it’s my thing I do in the half-light.
I’m in the pool almost every day at 5pm
the frogs are starting their serenade
the temperature drops & it looks like rain.
But who can stop me?
This addiction keeps me alive…
Keeps me fit and it keeps me energized.
Any hour is good to swim in the day
when the sun rays are safely tucked away.
Locked in a trance in this watery prism,
it’s about losing myself to the hypnotic rhythm.
And the pool pool pool
is the deepest shade of blue blue blue.
Oh yes even without the sun
it shines with an inner light
and I repeat and repeat
“Alhamdulillah
Thank you for my Life!!”
My heart is in the zone
it pounds to this beat
oh man it feels so good
feels so cool & sweet,
And the pool pool pool
is the deepest shade of blue blue blue
and the frogs coax me to the line
I count my strokes & then their croaks
It’s dark but it shines with an inner light
and I repeat and repeat
“Alhamdulillah
Thank you for my Life!!
Frogs are pairing up and trying to find a mate
Sun is under the horizon
and its getting real late
Just ten more laps to get to the line
but I’m going to finish, oh yeah, right on time

*Footnote: Because of my recent autoimmune diagnosis, I can no longer get sun on my skin. I must use a long suit, like a snorkeling suit and swim close to sunset.
I love the energy in the music and your voice; and the lyrics! So obvious that this is coming from your genuine feelings. Thanks for taking us along with you, again! 🙂

Thanks Dale and the energy of this surprised me too…but that is how it all turned out. When I wrote that title line a few days ago something (like my muse;) knew it could come in handy…and today I felt like playing with more of an electronic beat, which as you know, I have never composed anything of this genre, Ever on Garage Band…but I am feeling a bit bold now with this software, so I gave it a try:) The music put me to dance in my chair…so the poem was an extension of the music’s effect on me…and then some frogs:) So happy you loved the outcome…and thank you again for my frogs at poolside:)

Another great piece with awesome fun repeat. The lyrics are so wonderful and catchy. I can see you swimming in the pool and your audience of your croaking frogs cheering you on in the pool pool pool.. blue, blue, blue. How the heck to you keep coming up with these great tunes.. Swimming sure does become you and keep you healthy, Karima! Take a bow.. Yayyyyyy love it💓🙌🏽👏💕💓

Awww thank you Cindy…yes as the music turned over, so did the words…just placed frog croaks a little more randomly in the 2nd half:)
I seem to be in a very frenetic composing time on Garage Band, and maybe finally understanding it better has inspired me to try EVERYTHING hehe in music (which in turn inspires me to write very eclectic poetry. Swimming is keeping me alive, I’m pretty sure and I am so grateful to be able to do it too:)
I took a bow hehe and just loved the roses you sent to me backstage..
You are my best audience..I will gladly play your livingroom or family room or Patio anytime you want:):)
Loved your comment Cindy and really, it does inspire me to take chances:):) and just have fun…try everything:) ❤️💐🌹🙏💕🤗

Wow! A great piece! Love the vibrancy of music and voice! It’s magical. This can be possible when you have a good understanding of musical notes. And frogs so adorable.
But, Karima, I’m a little worried about the recent diagnosis. Please take care:)

Thank you Kaushal for your encouragement…You made me smile. I do play piano, so I know something about notes and timing but I am using the Apple Software of Garage Band which honestly has taken me quite a long time to understand how to lay down tracks, but I think I am finally getting it. Yes the autoimmune disease is tricky as sunlight is a big trigger and must be avoided. As I am a swimmer, this has been a bit of an adjustment, but I am getting it down now. Thank you for your concern:)

OMG, you are the grips of this MUSIC THANG!! You’re amazing me with this extension of yourself into not just beats, but the entire symphony of music production. Gosh, to think all this groovy stuff is oozing out of my Sissy’s creative genius is just so… GROOVY (lolol). It’s like you had a baby and hid it until you had nurtured it enough to be confident, creative and insightful, then you gave it freedom to take steps and journey wherever it’s soul desired to gain even more ‘life’ experience (smiles). I’m here for it and loving it ((hugs)) and APPLAUSE 🙂

Haha Sis you are too much!! Thank you for doing battle with WordPress haha and coming out victorious!!
I think you might be right 😁 Your theory seems right on, but this kid has turned into a “wild child” that is wearing me out with her crazy compulsion to make new music.
I had to keep her entertained elsewhere, but today she is back champing at the bit..She is even wearing out my muse who has to keep up with her writing poetry to her unstoppable energy sheesh! lol.. I love you Sis… So glad you are digging this new “wild child stage”

Alhamdulillah indeed dearest Karima. Scott and I both love the beat of this piece, and I feel like I can reach out and touch the water still lingering on the tile in the artwork, so how wonderful and thank you Dale. You always do such a wonderful job. What a gorgeous scene and I can imagine Karima swimming in her pool under the stars and the blue blue blue of the water with the inner light therein. How amazingly enticing this piece truly is and the sound of the native frogs so precious. The references to nature are gorgeous but the thing that is clearly understood is that you are grateful for the blue water, the nature surrounding you as you and the water become one, nurturing and keeping your body fit. It is a gift.
Karima the music here is so catchy and it is written like a song the Cadence that this piece coupled with this fantastic music is amazing. Wow, we both just smiled and even giggled when the frogs would call out.
When I think of you I love to imagine you in that pool swimming and listening to the night birds, insects and frogs. We were both smiling throughout this lovely piece. We both love your amazing voice, what a treat my friend.
Again, a positive beat and grateful words as you enjoy your swim in half-light. What a blessing, Alhamdulillah my friend. Thank you for sharing this uplifting and amazing piece of writing.
We both send our gratitude and love for you sharing this as I know how much you enjoy your time in the pool, and now I will picture you swimming with this music in your head and the light that comes from the energy of the water to make it so very blue. I love you, Joni and Scott sends his love too.

Hi Joni, I made it back:)
Oh yes you totally feel what i was trying to convey…This pool, the ability to still swim is such an important part of my life, my attitude, my health..well everything. As you know because of my Ehlers Danlos, I can’t take long walks but long swims are just as good and my heart and my health has responded so well to this routine.
Yes, picture me swimming with this beat in my head..or I even play electronic music at poolside with a speaker..A bit muffled under water but the beat drives me on and I wrote another post awhile back how I make up rhymes, to the beats in my head and it just puts me in the best trance,,My arms and legs seem to move automatically, and I am just in the ZONE!:)
I send you both back my love and gratitutude for your wonderful support of all the crazy things I do here on WordPress..I send my love to you both too..You guys are amazing..I feel I have known all my life.. HUGS

PS Karima I am starting with a post script, often my like button turns off even while I am still writing my response and I hit it again but it still may go off. Two or three years ago I sent a very long complaint to WordPress about this issue and they told me that it is an on-going problem because everytime chrome (which is by the way the browser they literally tell you that you need to use if you are paying for WordPress which we do) updates their software it creates a lot of issues for them and they too must do much updating. So I have had an outstanding complaint ticket on file for certainly over two years now. I am glad you shared with us how you actually have a beat and rhyme going on in your head. That sounds nice. I am sure it keeps your legs and arms toned too. Swimming is so wonderful for keeping weight, tone and the best cardiovascular exercise you can do. I applaud you my dear friend for doing what you are doing and I think God will be keeping you with us for many years to come indeed. Alhamdulilah! Love you and big hugs, Joni (We are starting to hear wrens now, what a blessing)
