Gifts from The Tide by Dale Innis AI Art
Life Tides
Have you noticed the tides in your life?
They roll in, bring you the good times,
bring you love and peace of mind;
the colors of the flowers almost make you cry
and then,
the tides shift, like clock work, like moon strides
and they roll out to sea taking it all with them.
They roll out, dragging with them,
the things you don’t want to let go…
There goes your health, getting further away from you,
and the water grows colder with foreboding
any moment it’s all going to go,
and you lose your job
and your peace turns to stress.
Your deepest dream sleep turns into
endless dreamless, sleepless nights.
Just when you think life can’t get any worse
The tides start to flow back in.
They surround your feet and they bring you gifts,
Hope floats on the spume, the breeze shifts;
the sunset is the best you’ve ever seen.
Just say thank you for all of it,
the waning tides that come and go
and the high tides that bring the good times.
The best thing to do is get weightless
and float out and in
in and out…
Just float as you go out and float as you come back in.
Ahhh just float on the tides and give thanks for your life.

Ahhh lovely and wise. And the perfect music for your recitation; I’m sitting in my car in a rainy parking lot, and that turns out to be a marvelous place to immerse in this and be reminded to be grateful for the gifts…

Oh good Dale, it does sound like the perfect venue to listen to it…and it was pouring here too when I recorded it…sort of blended into the waves. So glad you found it lovely and big thanks for the gift of your image too:)

Karima, your poem is so beautiful! The way you describe the tides of life is powerful and sensitive at the same time. You manage to capture the ups and downs of life in such beautiful images. It’s true that we often celebrate the good times while struggling with the pain of letting go. I admire your talent for expressing emotions so clearly and authentically. Thank You Karima!

Dear Rosie, sorry it has taken a bit to respond to your wonderful comment, but I want you to know how much it meant to me. Thank you so much for everything you said. Yes, I try to capture our very human emotions in my poetry…after all humans make up 100% of my audience:):) as far as I know haha:)
It was such a nice surprise to find it for this poem.
All my best always,
Karima

Each word is a gift of truth and how the tides keep rolling through the ups and downs so poignantly shared as we continue our journey. Powerfully shared with hope in the downtrodden days. Life’s beautiful wonderous wisdom in your words my friend❣️🙏🏼
