I Forgive You

I Forgive You
~~~
I forgive you..
because I have been forgiven.
I know the joy, the release
of pain…of shame
to hear those three little words.
They almost feel like
“I love you”
when we hear them
spoken out loud,
along with our name.
I forgive you…
because I have learned
to forgive myself.
It’s sometimes even harder
to forgive myself
than it is…to forgive you..
but I’ve learned how to…
and now I do.
Forgiveness is
another kind of love,
another kind of compassion,
another kind of grace.
It recognizes our imperfections
our weakness, our humanity
and takes the pain away.
I forgive you
because I feel lighter,
more at peace,
more hopeful,
more connected to my soul
When I can forgive,
when I have been forgiven;
the connection that broke
between us for so long…
is suddenly, totally, magically…
and lovingly…
mended and made whole.
Te Perdono
~~~
Te perdono..
porque he sido perdonada.
Yo conozco la alegría, la liberación
del dolor … de la vergüenza
para escuchar esas dos pequeñas palabras.
Casi se sienten como
“Te quiero”
cuando las escuchamos
hablado en voz alta,
junto con nuestro nombre.

Te perdono…
porque he aprendido
perdonarme
A veces es incluso más difícil
perdonarme
de lo que es … perdonarte …
pero he aprendido …
y ahora lo hago.
El perdón es
otro tipo de amor,
otro tipo de compasión,
otro tipo de gracia;
reconoce nuestras imperfecciones
nuestra debilidad, nuestra humanidad
y quita el dolor.

Te perdono
porque me siento mas ligera,
mas en paz,
mas esperanzada,
mas conectado a mi alma.
Cuando puedo perdonar
cuando haya sido perdonada;
la conexión que se rompió
entre nosotros durante tanto tiempo …
es de repente, totalalmente, mágicamente …
y con cariño …
remendada y hecha entera.

  2. This poem is of the highest importance, forgiveness has to be part of our daily life like gratitude. Forgiving ourselves is one of the hardest things to do when we have made mistakes. As it is all right to err everyone does it. No shame in forgiving yourself and others. Blessings.

    Nice poem karima.

    I get to remember a quote

    “We pardon to the extent that we love”

    The greater the love, the easier it is for us to forgive them.

  9. Thank you Sang, for visiting my blog..Oh yes, that’s a perfect quote…and I believe this too..It goes along with, the more I’ve been forgiven, the easier I can forgive. In the end, forgiveness is an act of love. Peace/

    • Gracias Shanyu..me alegro mucho que te haya gustado mi poema. Thank you for taking the time to read it and to leave this inspiring comment. Giving an artist or writer, or poet, that time, is in my belief a true altruistic act of generosity…May you also be rewarded with people who inspire you too:)
