A Laid-Back Rock ‘n Roll Sunday

881345

It’s such a laid-back rock ’n roll Sunday…
The sun took it’s mellow yellow time to come up.
It’s not a day to make any strenuous plans
More like… find a field of flowers and fall right in.

Bring your music, bring your guitar and some friends…
If the beat is built inside of you, you might just dance
Or you might try to contemplate the color of Spring’s sky
You could stay all day in this herbal way, incense on high.

Don’t you just love days like this..so far and few between?
Doing nothing at all, simply being and living your dream ?
As soon as I spied the break of day, I said, “ My oh my”
It’s going to be a sun-day, so feast your eyes on pie in the sky.

And when the shadows grow long, turning the bright a little down…
It’s time to say goodbye; memories for sure were made and will stay
Every blade of grass, is like a photograph, engraved upon my lids
Wish I could just grab your hand, run you to that field…
whenever we needed to, whenever we could…and fall right in,

  9. what a joyful uplifting poem Dear Karima.
    Your opening was a delight:

“The sun took it’s mellow yellow time to come up.
It’s not a day to make any strenuous plans
More like… find a field of flowers and fall right in.”

Each word was a respite to my soul.
