Why did I think from the moment I saw you
That you would have the answers?
I’d been spinning out in outer space and when I walked in
your office just felt like home or a cure for cancer
Wise beyond your years you have a reputation
you have several but that makes it more interesting.
In any case every noob and vet agree, you have lived
at least nine lives in three and been so close to death
you stuck your head through to the other side, just to see.
I don’t have an appointment, but I hope that does not dampen the hour
I think I’m right on time and today’s the day to share some power.
People always compared me to you, you to me, asked if we had met.
I said, it wasn’t in the cards and really I was barely interested.
But Fate has it’s way of working in the shadows,
until it’s obvious for all to see, it has agreed upon a time and day
and you might be the last to know, until you’re sitting across from it
and then, “ Some think you can tell me what it all means,” you hear yourself say.

I love what you saw in my image here! 🙂 So much going on under the surface… a cure for cancer… the day to share some power… Honored as always to have inspired this!

You do inspire so much, Dale!! My untamed imagination takes off, when I least expect it. Yesterday when I was curating the new group, I kept looking a second time at this one. Then today, I looked at it again, and ……here’s the poem it inspired…Thank you for your wild prompts that take me places, I would rarely go, if only left up to me.🌹

Thank you Jay…the whole feeling is a bit cyberpunk and I loved her attitude:) I am sure they would be pals on the Space Parts Moon-Mall…or wherever. I’m also pretty sure that fateful meeting started something bigger than either was even looking for…but that’s fate for you. Thank you for listening and enjoying what I did. 🌹

KARIMA! This piece is simply genius on so many levels. I LOVE your perspective on Dale’s image…I kept referring back to it as I was reading your special words. That last stanza OMG. The way you tied every piece together was just magical to me. What makes this piece work so brilliantly are all the subtle details, the hidden gems 😊. And the edgy confidence flowing throughout, I love that feel to this one. You, once again, delivered quite the masterpiece!!!Amazingly done, dear friend 🤍🤗

Dear Grace, I had to wait until morning (post coffee) to answer your magnificent comment. You have a way of just really reading deeply into my poetry, almost seeing from the inside out. Just know this is rare and I treasure your generous, right-on-point comments and I always will. Smiling, it did tie itself together at the end…much to MY surprise:) Since these are poems that come from an initial flow, I am not thinking about any of that. Sometimes I must do major tweaks or edits, but this time, it just ended at a good point on its own. Thank you dear Grace, for being not only one of my favorite poets, but also one of my most amazing readers,, Thank you for all your words of approval….they really do spark my confidence to trust in that poetic flow. Big hugss 🤗❤️🤗

This is a beautiful and heartfelt poem that captures the sense of awe and wonder that can come with encountering someone who seems to possess all the answers. The narrator’s sense of familiarity and comfort with this person is palpable, as is their admiration for their wisdom and experience. It’s clear that this person has had a profound impact on the narrator’s life, and that they are eager to learn from them and share in their power.
What I find particularly striking about this poem is the way it speaks to the power of fate and the ways in which it can bring people together, even when they may not have been actively seeking each other out. The sense of inevitability that permeates the poem gives it a powerful emotional weight, as if the narrator and this wise person were always meant to cross paths and learn from each other.
Overall, this is a deeply moving poem that speaks to the way in which we can find inspiration and guidance in unexpected places and people. It’s a reminder that sometimes the most transformative moments in our lives can come from chance encounters and unexpected connections.

Such a powerful poem, Karima! And I just read your poems in “Hidden in Childhood.” They brought tears to my eyes.

Oh thank you Dawn..sometimes images just speak to me, and this one surely did..I just tried to translate what I saw. As for Hidden in Childhood, I think I know the poem that brought tears, Horse’s Breath…I will never be able to read that one, outloud..I could hardly write it. It took an entire lifetime to finally believe, it was not my fault. One thing I learned at 11, never be too busy or rushed to say goodbye to someone you love.. Thank you for your kind words. 🌹

The whole idea of how we view ‘fate’ can be fascinating. Opportunities and inspiration are with us all the time. Is it ‘fate’ or ‘coincidence’ or as Picasso implies, you have to be looking in the first place?

Thank you David…fate is a very loved theme of mine in much of my poetry and videos. A Catholic priest once told me, “Coincidence is the pseudonym that God uses, when he doesn’t want to use his own.” I always liked that:):)

Love the element of story-telling in the poem. You seem to be honing the craft of narration. It’s always gripping and has suspense. They layers of meaning are understood right away but the depth is what gives it the flavour of intrigue!
Enjoyed it, Karima!

Hi Harshi:) So nice to see your comments on my blog..I think you are right, I am doing more poetic narration, storytelling through poetry. The images that attract me, sometimes call me to tell their story…That was an astute observation, as I was barely aware of it until I read your comment. Thank you so much for enjoying it and leaving this inspiring comment. 🌹

What an awesome atmosphere you create! Loving these lines: “I’d been spinning out in outer space and when I walked in / your office just felt like home or a cure for cancer”. Plus, so many more. The part about death was so well put. This has lot of Karima style in it. A joy to listen to you!
