The Gardener on YouTube

Good morning,
I want to share a true labor of love, I have been creating in the last week.
This is not his life story (impossible to do that in 3 minutes), but it touches on the essence that was James. His family gave me permission and provided photographs to make this slideshow possible. My special thanks to his wife , Ellen Serber and his daughter Giovanna Melton ,for their encouragement and their willingness to make this slideshow. David Mackie (https://dmackie.com/photography) Took over 100 photographs of the garden a few days after James departed

Your poem and they way you delivered it plus the beat truly gave life to Jame’s stunning collection….well done Karima.🫶

    • Thank you so much Mich…The family provided so many priceless photos…without them I could not have attempted to make this. They were very happy with the outcome and I am so glad you enjoyed my poetic narration too.

Such a lovely tribute; the way you weave the fashion and garden pictures together, with your music and words and voice! I didn’t know him, but you really bring out what a unique person he was. I choked up.

Fantastic garden. I love gardening and admire those who can create beauty which we can all enjoy. Thank you so much for this.

    • Oh my pleasure David..James trajectory from high fashion to gardening, where he produced his own microbes to make his special fertilizer is a very interesting story…I only hinted at but his years in Costa Rica really made him fall in love with gardening…for food as well as beauty.

Karima, you never fail to amaze me. I first fell in love with the music you created, just perfect for this special video. What a kindness that the family did releasing these precious photographs. Your poetry is beautiful and with the sound of your sultry voice and the gorgeous flowers and the accompanying fashion, one can not help but see the inspiration that was drawn from his love of nature. I know how much you also cherished the land where you live along with the nature you live in. The fact that he took his family to a place where they could relax and build such a special tribute to our beautiful gift – which nature truly is, shows a special connection. Thank you so much for sharing this with us. I send you love, hugs and always blessings.

    • Aww thank you so much Joni…he was such a dear friend to me. and I will miss so much our Sunday chats. As you remember, Jimmy was Gino’s creative partner and the two of them were together for years…then Gino came into my life and Jimmy returned to the USA and built this amazing garden in Point Reyes California. After Gino passed in Jan of 2020, Jimmy and I started our Sunday talks…I will miss those and him very much…So glad you enjoyed my tribute to him:) Big hugs and much love Joni…I loved your comment, Thank you again dear friend 🤗🙏💕
