Gino’s Butterfly by Karima Hoisan & Dale Innis.

I have pulled myself out of the virtual after being lost in it all last week, to share what I have been up to:)
I have been filming a very special world, a personal world I built in January of 2020. Gino’s Butterfly was begun the very day Gino left us and was a big help in getting me through the sad period of loss.
The movie is about this world I built. It is a personal world for a beloved friend and family member.
Thanks to the scripting wonders of Dale, those who visit virtual worlds, can take the
“Tour of Gino’s Life” and those who don’t travel these realms, can experience it, by watching this video.

It’s Long for even for one of my longer movies, 10 minutes to be exact, so take a break, make popcorn and see the rest, after a brief intermission, but do see it to the end. You will understand the title if you do.. I decided not to divide it into two videos, to keep the continuity of Gino’s life being portrayed.
Please watch in Fullscreen, 4K Resolution with good audio.
Likes and comments here or/and on YouTube are much cherished ❤️ Enjoy!!

This is such a beautiful and moving build! And this video does it justice; an amazing tour, and the music and narration are perfect. (You’re getting so good with that Space Mouse thing!) So love this series, and this is especially a star.

    • Awww thank you for declaring this one a “star” 🌟 Dale, you know what a labor of love this has been, from the building of the world, to finally filming it. If it weren’t for you and your magic scripts, no one would be flitting through this world in either the virtual. or in this film. Thank you again for everything you did to make this world even more beautiful 🙂 🙏

  7. I love your moving tribute to your dear friend Karima. What a rich life he had and so beautifully documented. What a gift to Gino and friends and family to keep life so well documented in an incredible way in your very own amazing radio voice!!! Stupendous filming! 💗

    • Aww Cindy, I’m thrilled you watched it (Did you make popcorn?) I started building this world, the very day he passed away and was buried. I came home and my grandaughter, Danna, gave me the drawing you see in the beginning and I went right away and reserved a space and called it Gino’s Butterfly…:) Now the rest is history, and if it is true, many have gone inside and taken the tour of his life, now on YouTube, more will get to know this one of a kind character we had the privilege to know and love!! Thank you for commenting and Happy Thanksgiving too!

NOTE: I put this comment on YouTube a while ago but somehow didn’t do it here, sorry about that. Love and hugs, Scott and Joni

Love the beginning – what a beautiful little girl you were, too. I love you on the couch looking at the designs. Oh my Gosh, that chess game, the skeletons, etc., was compelling. I am so glad he went to school on the GI Bill and how very clever it was to work at Tiffany & Co. to learn how to accessorize his designs, which were so beautiful. I love the scene with the green couch, the beautiful patches of cloth on the grass-like parts of his designs, and the green and blue figures. His move to Los Angeles and his meeting with the other designer sounds like a blessing. I love the scene with him standing in front of Tiffany & Co. and all of the butterflies flying around; that theme is so mesmerizing. The fashion sketches and the shop where he worked show how talented and gifted he was with his collaborator. His talent of envisioning the client wearing the dress was way ahead of his time, like today’s computer modeling. The transitioning between different geographic locations and timelines by going through doors and the 3-D effects are stunning. We loved it when the scene changed to Costa Rica, with the ocean crashing into the mountains and the corresponding sea spray. The transition to a more primitive lifestyle sounds so enchanting yet draws his little creative family closer together in a more meditative time. The flowers, horses, and other livestock up against the mountains add such color and life to an already scenic world. When Gino finally moves to the village where you live, you can see why you became family and how he became a member of your household. Showing Gino’s sketches in the Costa Rican landscape shows how much of an influence he was to you and the local community. The last scene, with all of the pictures of him, then transitioning to the butterfly and taking off, it made both of us cry. What a wonderful tribute, hats off to you and Dale (this comment was written by Joni and Scott Caggiano 🙂 )!
