Good Luck!
I see good luck in the strangest places
It’s been a solid thread
in my weave.
I’ve learned to expect it anywhere, anytime
and nothing is too hard to believe….
sometimes in crystals
sometimes in the leaves of the palm
to have suitors at 80
and people still coming around….
Good luck is the pen name of Grace
When Grace is shy she signs “Good Luck”
When Grace is feeling playful
she calls it your lucky day
but it’s really Grace…
coming your way.
Grace is so completely undeserved…
Nothing you do or don’t, will bring her
or keep her away.
When she feels like it, she leaves you a gift
That’s how she works and Voilá…
It’s your lucky day!

* Footnote: The lines that begin “sometimes in crystals
sometimes in the leaves of the palm…” I woke up in the middle
of the night, repeating.. I wrote them down..I guess they wanted to be
this poem…( I do hope so 🙂
So good! Often a good idea to keep a notebook by the bed for things like this. 🙂
“Good luck is the pen name of Grace” is an especially great line. Indeed!
Thanks so much Dale…the unconcious mind is such a trip…all kinds of things locked in there…but I know enough to jot down what bubbles out…
you never know….really pleased you enjoyed the entire thought.
I love your poem so full of grace and the treasured moments to note that keep our well filled. Sending you all of the luck of the green grace of St. Patty’s day. You are a blessed and lucky special lady, my friend 🍀🙏🏼🍀☘️🙏🏼

Karima, “Good luck is the pen name of Grace” is just perfect. That line really shapes the way I think about luck.
~David
You know the concept of grace is more a Christian concept, than Islamic, but I have always felt the truth of it, in my life. It comes when it wants..to whom it wants.. no rewards, not recompense for “doing good deeds”
Just because…and I love that:) I appreciate your thoughtful comment David…Thank you so much 🙏 Ramadan Kareem!☪️
Yeah, TBH, I thought of that when I read the poem and responded. But there’s wisdom to be drawn from every tradition!
BTW, would you mind if I share this piece as a reblog at some point in the future?
I would be honored David:)
Fun. It’s such a lucky experience to see Grace. Abundant. Have a great week, Karima!
Defintely Jeff…I agree:) It is very much our good luck when she comes in…
Yes an experience we might have, once in a lifetime:) Thank you for commenting.
A very beautiful poem Karima.
Thank you so much Sadje!!
☪️ Ramadan Kareem!! Almost Eid Inshallah!!🌙
Insha’Allah. May Allah SWT bless the Muslim Ummah with peace and blessings. Aameen.
InshAllah
Aameen
The poem expresses that good luck is actually an unexpected grace that comes into life without us being able to provoke or control it.
Yes Lincol…that is the message:)…thank you for reading it and I enjoyed your comment very much:)
🤗🤗🫂🤗
What a lovely, graceful piece, Karima! “Good luck is the pen name of Grace” stood out for me. Well done! Ramadan Kareem!!
Thank you so much Kaushal…I really enjoyed your comment and glad that line vibrated with you too:) Ramadan Mubarak!!
Truly my pleasure, Karima!
💚👏(so lovely!)
When something has gone well, and I have been fortunate, then I like to spend a little time being thankful for the circumstances that created the good fortune. I have been fortunate to continue the battle against cancer thanks to doctors, nurses and my wife. If you have been fortunate, spend a few moments thinking about who might have contributed to that, then give them thanks.
Yes David, you’re right and that is a beautiful way of seeing it too…I hope you will be always fortunate in your battlde..Inshallah!!
