It’s Always Been About Love

It all comes down to love
in the beginning, the middle and the end.
There is no better reason to be alive…
There is no other memory that’s worth remembering.
Tell each one that you have loved,
how much that time meant to you,
that month, that year, that marriage,
when you were loving them
and they were loving you.
Tell your children, how you learned to love them
before they were even born,
how picking out their name, the baby bed, their clothes,
filled you with a joy like waiting for Christmas morning
or the three days of Eid.
Tell your best friend, your co worker you  always enjoyed working with,
the enemy that you learned to forgive and to love
and love was your reward as it always is, when you learn to forgive.
Love and peace of mind are the rewards for forgiving.

While there is life there is time, to seek out your loves
and thank them for sharing your life… for that moment in time
Tell your kitties, your dogs your birds that fly free,
your loyal horses, how much they mean to you.
and why not….?
Thank that little fridge that hums in your room,
that resilient mylar tiger in the form of a helium balloon.
Thank the beach ball that floats in the pool,
waiting for you to come and play.
Thank everyone and everything in your life
that adds up to make one more good day.
Really it was never about success or fame or winning some game
It’s always been about love…

    Disfruta tu domingo querida Karima.

  5. Very nice and such wonderful advice. Almost everyone will respond better to praise and showing gratitude rather than handing out criticism. Well done.

    • Thank you so much David for your comment. I really like what you say here, “will respond better to praise and showing gratitude rather than handing out criticism.” That is so true…love and praise motivate, harsh criticism can deflate rather than elevate. Thank you for reading and listening.

Such a beautiful and true sentiment. What else are we here for, and yet why is it so easy to forget? And as ever, the perfect voice and music. Thank you for reminding us of this, of what it’s always been about…

    • Big smiles, thank you so much Dale, for saying that and also for the wonderful image you gave me so I could slap on some emojes.. I appreciate that you liked the chosen music (hard to go wrong with Mariza:) and my way of reciting. For some undefined reason, I too was reminded last night, that this is what it’s really all about:)

What a lovely way to tell the loved one to love, and that too in your emphatic voice! The following lines stood out for me-
Tell your children, how you learned to love them
    before they were even born,
Well done, Karima! Every word of yours plays emotions.

    • Thank you so much dear friend for listening and feeling the love. Yes, I also love the part about loving your unborn children…It’s really true how they become already part of you, even before you see their faces. Your words were very motivating for me, Kaushal. Thank you for your support always.

  11. You are right, we don’t tell our loved ones that we love them enough. We take it for granted that they will always be around.
