Good Luck!
I see good luck in the strangest places
It’s been a solid thread
in my weave.
I’ve learned to expect it anywhere, anytime
and nothing is too hard to believe….
sometimes in crystals
sometimes in the leaves of the palm
to have suitors at 80
and people still coming around….
Good luck is the pen name of Grace
When Grace is shy she signs “Good Luck”
When Grace is feeling playful
she calls it your lucky day
but it’s really Grace…
coming your way.
Grace is so completely undeserved…
Nothing you do or don’t, will bring her
or keep her away.
When she feels like it, she leaves you a gift
That’s how she works and Voilá…
It’s your lucky day!

* Footnote: The lines that begin “sometimes in crystals
sometimes in the leaves of the palm…” I woke up in the middle
of the night, repeating.. I wrote them down..I guess they wanted to be
this poem…( I do hope so 🙂
So good! Often a good idea to keep a notebook by the bed for things like this. 🙂
“Good luck is the pen name of Grace” is an especially great line. Indeed!

Thanks so much Dale…the unconcious mind is such a trip…all kinds of things locked in there…but I know enough to jot down what bubbles out…
you never know….really pleased you enjoyed the entire thought.

Karima, “Good luck is the pen name of Grace” is just perfect. That line really shapes the way I think about luck.

You know the concept of grace is more a Christian concept, than Islamic, but I have always felt the truth of it, in my life. It comes when it wants..to whom it wants.. no rewards, not recompense for “doing good deeds”
Just because…and I love that:) I appreciate your thoughtful comment David…Thank you so much 🙏 Ramadan Kareem!☪️
