Happy Birthday Gino!! Your Big 9-0

Screenshot

Gino maybe 1992

My dear lifetime friend and fabulous designer and sketch artist who passed away on Jan 12 2020 would have been 90 years old today.
As you recall I built a virtual world, Gino’s Butterfly on Kitely soon after his death on Kitely Virtual Worlds. Gino’s Butterfly Hosts Hypergrid Safari
Well Kimm Star a Virtual world creator and 3D artist saw Gino’s sketches and totally fell in love. She came to me recently and asked if she could use some of his drawings to stage a Fashion Show circa 1960 of Gino’s sketches at the OpenSim Worlds Fair 2025.
This is a big deal in the virtual world  and she is planning something so fantastic, I think Gino could attempt to return from the Dead to see it!! It really wouldn’t surprise me 🙂
I want to give you a sneak peak , a small teaser but the actual show will run from March 1-March 30 2025. It will be automated and it will be innovative!

“The OpenSim Worlds Fair is set to launch on March 1, 2025, and will celebrate innovation, creativity, art, technology, fashion, and education in OpenSim. This event, a year in the making, will unite the OpenSim community under one roof, showcasing the talents and achievements that define our world”

When Kimm asked me to go and see what she was doing,.I had no idea of what I would find..When I saw what she had done with Gino’s sketches… I cried..I could hardly talk and all I could think was, omg how would Gino have loved to see this day..his sketches turned into Live Models..who will walk the catwalk at the Opensim Fair 2025 !
Look for yourself..WOW! Through the magic of Kimm Star and virtuality!!  Happy 90th dear friend🎂❤️  Thank you Kimm!!

My Son and his two boys and I put flowers from our yard on his grave today:)

Big Toad’s New Home

There ought to be a law for people having too much fun when they are trying to compete in an Annual  Video Challenge, like the one calmkate at Alchemy Aroused has invuted all to enter.
My video is more than twice as long as the specified length (3 minutes) and contains non -union  and non- human actors in it too. Still..here it is in 4K and very colorful in the holiday colors of the Christmas season.
I guess this is my contribution to that time of the year and hope you will enjoy a little family fun that hopefully makes people think a bit about intolerance.
You can find out more about participating right here Annual Alchemy Challenge
and if you are curious to see my entry….well here it is:)  Thank you Kate for inviting me to particpate and I will take you up on that lunch in Australia…if I win:) Enjoy

My Place of Peace

Snapshot_002

At the Natascha Randt Memorial on Kitely Virtual Worlds

Music: Dance of Life Composer: Peder B. Helland Licensed by Soothing Relaxation

My Place of Peace

Because I am an avatar
weightless, my body but a
pixelated illusion,
when I want to find peace,
I go to my virtual Memorial
floating in the images
of what was, but now gone,
I feel an acceptance, a quiet assurance
that all is as it should be…
and in the changing textures,
the floating orbs that morph their colors

in a space I created from my imagination,
revolving to the music
I float around and around,
in my place of peace.

Horse Dance by Karima Hoisan on YouTube

The one 2

The Picture is yours truly in her Horse Avatar” made in Second Life

So my muse surprised me again.
This is not the first time, but I wouldn’t try to second guess what she wants next:)
She sent me to Garage Band to work on some new music and she chained me to
the platform until I came up with what you will hear in this, my latest, YouTube.
It’s sort of a Latin/Jungle/Jazz thing, that grew very complicated but in the end..
I too approved of my muse’s choice.
I decided no poem, no narration, just let the imagery speak (and dance!) for itself.
Thanks to Dale Innis for digging up his old horse avatar from 2014 ( mine too) and galloping and dancing along with me.
It has a small story and hope you all catch it And……it’s only 3:45 long  which is
a record for shortness on my Channel.
Please watch in 4K and turn up the sound (that will delight my muse)
As always if you enjoyed please conside going “all the way” to YouTube
and slap a thumbs up on it too. Comments are like dessert for me. I adore them
Enjoy!!!

Life Tides

Press Play for my spoken word to the music “Allure” by Chris Spheeris

Tides

Gifts from The Tide by Dale Innis AI Art

Life Tides
Have you noticed the tides in your life?
They roll in, bring you the good times,
bring you love and peace of mind;
the colors of the flowers almost make you cry
and then,
the tides shift, like clock work, like moon strides
and they roll out to sea taking it all with them.
They roll out, dragging with them,
the things you don’t want to let go…

There goes your health, getting further away from you,
and the water grows colder with foreboding
any moment it’s all going to go,
and you lose your job
and your peace turns to stress.
Your deepest dream sleep turns into
endless dreamless, sleepless nights.

Just when you think life can’t get any worse
The tides start to flow back in.
They surround your feet and they bring you gifts,
Hope floats on the spume, the breeze shifts;
the sunset is the best you’ve ever seen.
Just say thank you for all of it,
the waning tides that come and go
and the high tides that bring the good times.

The best thing to do is get weightless
and float out and in
in and out…
Just float as you go out and float as you come back in.

Ahhh just float on the tides and give thanks for your life.

Weeping Words.

If I thought my weeping words could save the lives

of the innocents who don’t deserve to die,

I’d wake the world, words dripping from my eyes

and cry them out,  “Stop the killing… Stop the lies.”

The Day My Grandson Met Dalí

dali jack.001

The Day My Grandson Met Dalí

Standing in front of The Discovery of America
by Cristopher Columbus,
he was introduced to the artist
for the first time
in his 15 years.
Life had led him to many new things,
sports, music and now a year in the United States,
but until today, Dali had yet a name although
this painting (a print) hung in the guest room
where he and his mother
slept in my house, when they came to visit.

Of course he already knew about Art,
he grew up surrounded by it.
His mother draped the walls of their house
in her collection and topping it off,
his older brother was an artist.

But today standing in an Art museum
contemplating it full-size,
he was almost overwhelmed with its beauty.
He felt like he had crawled inside,
now part of the imagery,
like wearing a virtual headset
he felt it as it were in 3D
and he sent a text to his mother
back home, “Mom, look
that painting I saw hanging on the wall,
at Abba’s, is just a smaller version
and it was painted by an artist
named Salvador Dalí. “

Ah how my grandson reminds me of me…
when I was first introduced to the man
who once proclaimed,
” I am Surrealism”
When I discovered him in a book
of colored plates, each painting… a surprise,
a jolt to the visual, all unfamiliarly beautiful.
It shocked my grasp of reality
and I was left almost dizzy with delight.

I smiled inside,
across the Atlantic Ocean,
so far away;
It did seem like the perfect day
for my grandson to be standing in a museum of art,
enthralled, in true awe,
meeting the artist for the first time,
known as Dalí.

When You & I Were Vampires

When you &
I were vampires, strolling the foggy docks
down by the levee,
we were all knowing, all powerful.
Walking on the dark side, the night time
was our time and our venue,
blood red was the only color we sought,
to offset our black clothes, white faces,
cold skin….. Please go here to Spillwords.com to read and hear  the rest.
Please feel free to comment here or there or everywhere….
and a click on a little bloody heart is very appreciated:) ♥️
Enjoy!!!
Boo!
