Outside
Somehow, while the world was turning
I got left on the outside..standing still.
Everything seemed normal and yet
I sensed that I was missing.
Things flashed by me, while saxophones wailed like sirens
and yet, I was frozen, in place, in time, in space
The black night kept me hanging, while the colors
swirled around me, the laughter, the warmth,
but I was unable to take part…
being on another plane looking in,
seeing without living,
breathing without being alive.

Wow. That’s all quite sad. You certainly capture that feeling of isolation, of detachment. On the ever turning carousel of life we’ve all been there at least once-or thousands of times. Your words describe the soul-searing loneliness humans can experience. Time for some nice coffee and a big hug!

One more comment. You really caught that sense of being totally distraught, alone, and feeling the color drain from the world about you. A foreboding sense of darkness and being alone. That is a scary, hollow feeling. When the color drains from your world, it is time to change course and go find color. find safety, find fellowship. Sometimes difficult to do when enveloped by darkness.

Oh my, Karima. Like Ronald says: We’ve all been there and I hope this is but a memory. Being blessed with an artistic mind can shove you there more often than not. Always remember there are people holding out their hands to you. That’s what keeps me going 🙂
HUGSS!
