A Train of Ghouls Going to Hell

Slide1

A Train of Ghouls going to Hell

A train of ghouls on their way to Hell
were questioning their fate…
“Who made us ghouls anyway?
Did our Creator make some mistake..?”

One reached over and asked the other
If he had enjoyed his ghoulish ways?
Was anything close to worth it
To pay like this at the end of days?

“Well shape-shifting was pretty nice,
I could be anything or anyone I ate.”
“One time I ate a fly, but truly by accident
On a wall, I heard plans for an Apple Update.”
.
“I was sick of lunching on corpses
and always afraid of losing my head.
I could never enjoy a bit of sunlight
I was just half alive but mostly half dead.”

“Does anyone wonder how we all died together?
It seems a coincidence we did the same day,
and who chopped off our noggins in unison
and who put us on this train to begin with, anyway?”

Then the conductor came through their car
“Tickets to Hell please” He stopped, making sure they had paid.
“Oh I don’t have a ticket,” “Nor do I,” each exclaimed,
Thrown off at the next stop, they kissed their fate,  giggling, they ghouled away.

That’s an interesting & intense kind…your muse wanted you to write something “off the charts”…even on the hell train, one needs to have a ticket…luckily they didn’t have it…this part speaks to me…soul searching kinda way…well written, Karima 💫

    • I don’t even know what to say haha this is not usually the kind of poem that come out of me…Muse was being silly and having fun on her own ….and yet, a train of ghouls doing a bit of soul searching..and sharing, haha I sort of like that idea. We have a cool expression in Spanish…Costa Rica is a Catholic country like 90%..with a defined belief in Heaven and Hell and yet we say, ” God bends the rules, so that everyone is saved in the end:) Maybe this tale is an example of that hehe. Thanks so much for your reflections Navin…always enjoy how you see things.🌹 ❤️🙏

You’re welcome, dear Karima…Haha – yeah, ghouls are doing a bit of soul searching…it’s more that subconsciously, humans are doing soul searching through your Muse…they appear as ghouls in your soulful, silly & unique poem…how beautiful – the expression in Spanish ✨❤️💫

    • Awww thank you J. You have the techno vision that takes in the whole picture… I didn’t see the redemption side until later but..yes even ghouls can get a second chance to mend their ways… In their case (read a bit about them) as long as they have their heads..they’re
not completely dead:):) While there is life.. there is still time to change for the better:):)
Loved your comment and your perspective❤️

This is a bit of a different write for you my friend. It was very interesting and makes one think a bit. I have never been into the zombie thing but then we don’t really know what it would be like to be on the way to hell. I won’t be finding out thank goodness, but this was pretty cleaver of you. Some found a way to escape by saying they didn’t have a ticket for the train, but it makes one think. “What happens to you after dropping off the train?” Very cleaver Karima. Glad your muse is working for you. Sending my love and lots of hugs. xooxooxo

    • Joni, I love your euphemism…haha this is a totally bizarre departure for me..but I am 100% blaming it on that quixotic muse and her spoiled upbringing…Now she just thinks and writes what she wants,,,I am powerless:):) I think getting thrown off the train before Hell, definitely presents a possibility of redemption. How they handle that chance… well, as Cindy says…we will have to wait for Chapter Two to find out…In any case as it seems to be in this world..not all will be saved:):) Glad you enjoyed my muse taking the bit in her mouth and running along the tracks with this wacky idea. Much love Joni, Karima ❤️

I loved it. She must be a great muse. I too am trying to branch out a bit with the short stories. It is good for us. I can’t wait for chapter 2. Have a good one, hugs and love, Joni

Karima, Karima, Karima…. Now I am really worried about you ! I thought that Ghoul Keepers were the people that stand in front of the net at Soccer Games ! You are very multi talented Karima !
SO THIS GHOUL WALKS INTO A BAR AND ASKS THE BARTENDER………….
” DO YOU SERVE GHOULS ? THE BAR TENDER YES WE SERVE GHOULS AND BOYS !
Best I can do on short notice Karima.
#2 So this guy walks up to a hotdog stand and a nice Asian gentleman is behind the counter and the guy sees a small BUDDA on the counter. The Asian gentleman asks, ” What can I do for you today?
So the guy says, ” MAKE ME ONE WITH EVERYTHING ! ”
The Asian gentleman responds, ” KNOCK OFF WITH THE BUDDHIST JOKES AND TELL ME WHAT YOU WANT ON YOUR HOTDOG ! ”

    • Haha Marc, you are very funny…the 2nd joke was stellar!! Don’t worry//it’s not me..it’s
my muse that has become so headstrong…she just writes the craziest things when she wants to.
At least my poem inspired some good jokes from you. Thank you for this fun comment..
i think your humor is well intact on such short notice:)

    • Giggles..Thanks Jeff. My muse has been bouncing all over the place lately, but I never expected her as a witness to a bunch of ghouls bound for Hell in a train car…Boy..that even surprised me. She has her eclectic, eccentric tastes of late, but I don’t say a word..have to let her loose and free…as I am sure you know, dealing with your own:) 🌹🦋❤️

You’re welcome, Karima. Always. Ah, I do completely understand. The other night, my muse got me up, and started writing prose. No poetry, just prose. First time. I don’t know if the prose will see the publish button, yet, I do know in that moment, prose was exactly what I was supposed to write. It was fun! 🌹❤️🦋
