Strange Dream
It was a crazy day on the river of my morning dreams
fluffed up cumulus clouds, bouncing on a peach colored sky.
A soprano voice on shore sang out a message up ahead,
“Sometimes I just want to give-up but instead I give back, it said.”
and I thought,
“Such a strange dream
Whatever could it mean?”
The parakeets, like a flock of lunatics in a mad chorus giggling
beat the contrary airwaves frantically with their small wings, singing,
Screaming as one, they choose a course right over my head
“Sometimes I just want to give-up but instead I give back,” they said
and I thought,
“Such a strange dream
Whatever could it mean?”
Bells and glass wind chimes sounding in the building breeze
Their sweet harmonic notes growing louder as I floated closer
This surprise symphony spoke in transcendence to me, as it spread,
“Sometimes I just want to give-up but instead I give back, it said.”
and I thought,
“Such a strange dream
Whatever could it mean?”
I then awoke with a phone call for help, “ I need you! Please come!”
I dropped everything and went and listened and hugged her a lot
She cried in my arms saying, “it’s hopeless and just all too much.”
When I told her my dream; she was soothed by my voice and my touch.
and she said,
“Such a strange dream
Whatever could it mean?”

Awww thank you and honestly I did wake up with those words in my head..I wrote them down, as we poets tend to do…and they turned into a poem…as many times does happen. So glad you enjoyed the results Cindy, and my spoken word. Your support approval mean a lot to me 🌹

It has dawned on me just now, hearing this, your poems, your work, the chosen cadence of your voice, the selfless sharing of your gift, you have always elected to “give back”. You are truly, our Poet Laureate

Oh Mojo..your dawning..your “realization” totally blew me away…The fact that you see me in this way..giving back just by sharing my poetry, is such a radical notion for me. You have read and heard my poetry, supporting me with your generous comments for almost 15 years!! (Can you believe it?) Thank you for calling me your Poet Laureate. I’d be so honored to think I was that for Second Life in my more active days…but here I am just one of so many great poets “giving back” every day.. Thank you my forever friend..I cherish your words.🦋

Awww thank you, loved soulkin..I think you hear the voice of the universe very clearly and you have helped me be a better listener too :):) But you know as I do, those phrases that ride on the edge of consciousness, should be heeded:) 🤗🎈🎈🤗

There are poems that must be digested in complete silence so as not to lose an iota of the verses. That’s how magnificent your poetry is. I don’t speak English but I can enjoy the cadence of your voice, which lulls my incipient night. Greetings.

A dream that reminds me that we all have something to offer to others as long as we are prepared to listen for the call. A lovely poem.

Beautifully put David, and thank you for enjoying my poem. Sadly, many of us have gone deaf and gone under, in these very hard times.
