Woman In White Gown, Falling, Cloudy Sky | Leslie Balleweg
Truth and Time
Plummet straight down into everything
that has made you cry.
Descend into each time you laughed so hard
tears fell happily from your eyes.
Let yourself fall into what has been your life
so far up to this point.
Feel that adrenaline as you just let go…
Like a runaway elevator,
Your own moving picture show.
Would you change anything or change it all
if you had that power?
Or do you see the weave how it all threads together
If you loosen just one… all apart, it will fall?
Even the bitter times were made sweet in the end,
The hopeless, did not stay forever and at your door,
a smiling face asked to come in.
Will you be happy with the scenes that flood your mind,
on the day you surrender to Truth and Time?

wowl, the image that goes with the poem evokes a sense of urgent necessity, ready or not, here it is: the next life event! the cloudy sky could be mistaken for a conflagration. everything in the image says that immediate action must be taken, is in process & there’s no backing out now!👁👁 attitude is everything when you are plunging toward realization beyond your safety net! time to open the heart like a parachute to guide the journey🙏🏼❤️🙏🏼wonderfully & evocatively written & illustrated👍🏼😊🌹thank you ❤️🌹

Thank you my deep seeing friend for seeing this as you do. Yes that moment of falling that, nothing to grab onto moment, stomach in your throat, is the perfect time to “open the heart like a parachute” and give thanks for it all:) Thank you for this beautiful comment that adds to and embellishes my poem so perfectly ❤️🤗🙏🌹🦋

Exquisitely crafted and expressed, speaking to me of the Truth about the past, present, and future, which is that this moment is the only one that has ever, or will, ever exist. When we can understand this viscerally, letting go becomes a true possibility. A wise, and gorgeous write, Karima. I love it. ❤️🤗🌹

Oh Jeff, wow I love where my poem took you..your thoughts on it and how you actually fleshed out my original idea.. Yes, this moment is what we have.. and if we take an “accounting” now and then, while we can, changes are still possible to be made..moment by moment. Thank you my wise poet for seeing it in its entirety…and letting go is good to learn..as in the last moment…it’s all we have…practice makes that last surrender so much easier:) I believe this to be true:)🙏🦋❤️

Oh, indeed, I agree with everything you’ve written here. Surrender is something that takes practice, yet inside of this visceral experience lives freedom. You’re most welcome, Karima. Reading you is always so enlightening and inspirational. 🙏🦋❤️

we will all be confronted with our truths in time, so we need to be most careful what we create 🙂

Hi Kate..sorry I just saw your beautiful comment…and oh yes, I feel very conscious of this truth. The older I get, the more I tweak..my life if you know what I mean..I think we are “allowed” some mistakes early on, but if we are aware they were not our finest moment…we can change them:) While there is life..there is always that marvelous possibility. Your comment really inspired me 🙂 Thank you! Thank you!!

What a wonderful poem for the modern day Alice by a Mad-hatter!
My favourite lines – Would you change anything or change it all
if you had that power?
Or do you see the weave how it all threads together
If you loosen just one… all apart, it will fall?
That’s quite a thought to mull over, Karima! Nicely done!

Aww thank you so much Harshi for your comment and thoughts on this one,,,Yes, I believe if we are happy where we are, then nothing can be changed from the past..or if it is, we will not be where we are today… If we are not happy in the now, well we can still change our futures:) By the way…I gave you a dedication in my reading.. if you dont want to watch the whole thing, it starts at about min 16:36. Here is the whole reading….someone actually filmed it! https://karimahoisan.com/2022/07/08/video-of-my-poetry-reading-opensim-fest/

Karima what a beautiful ending which really gets to the root of this piece. How will we fill when we leave this earth for our next life’s heaven? Will we be happy with what we have done and how we have done it. I like the way you describe life, ” like your own moving elevator” a question for each of us to face at some time. Very beautiful work my dear friend. You are amazing. Love and peace to you dear Karima. Joni xoxoxoxo
