Poets
for my WordPress Poets
I had just finished a poem
and then the next day another
then four days later, another…
Now I’m wondering,
where do these poems come from?
When we sit down to breakfast,
and stare into our coffee cup, our tea cup
our breakfast cereal, or rice and beans,
do we have any idea..what we might write,
in the late afternoon, or by candlelight?
I’m curious to learn, how others do it,
Do you know minutes or hours before
That today you’ll be caught up in verse?
Actually..I do
I wake up and know..
yes today is the day I will write.
I haven’t even thought about what I will say,
just an idea, yet to be swished around in my brain glass,
before I ingest it..
mesmerized by millions of possibilities
and yet, without even a glimpse,
from the side of my eye as to,
what my creative chambers might be up to.
It’s like that old baseball film…
“Build it and it will come`’
an assurance that if I find the right music;
(music is my pump to begin the flow,)
I can release my brain and let it run….
Then,
It’s intuitive, almost like magic,
“Find the music and it will come”
If you would be so kind to take the time,
you poets all over the world,
and tell me how you do it in your poetic style.
Do you write with a pen, or dictate or type?
Do you need to be outside, in Nature,
or inside a closed room, alone?
I would read each poem voraciously
verse about verse… a poem about a poem
your process that ends successfully,
in your special brand of poetry.

Poetas
para mis poetas de WordPress
Acababa de terminar un poema
y luego al día siguiente otro
luego, 4 días después, otro…
Ahora me pregunto
¿Sabes minutos u horas antes
¿Que hoy estarás atrapado en verso?
De hecho … yo sí
Me despierto y sé …
una garantía de que si encuentro la música adecuada;

I do not always write poems but my writing just comes, the space is created and it is filled. No plan, no days of writing, when the words come straight from the soul it just flows.

Interesting how this poem sank in deeper when I read it in Spanish. The flow is so beautiful. “Puedo liberar mi cerebro y dejarlo correr.” What was all wish for as authors. Have a lovely day, Karima.

Thank you Sabiscuit for commenting…That happens to me too by the way,,has more meaning in the other language. Sooo now that I have your attention, I really would like to hear about your process for writing a poem, You are the first (and only)person, who actually writes them to respond…Unless you are keeping that a secret,,Please share with me, how you do it:)

Thank you for reading my poetry!!! I have several processes, actually.
Primarily, I hear the poem as a chord or rhythm first. Then a phrase appears and then I allow the words to fall together. Then, I research any symbolism, plump it out with a story and adjust the flow. It feels more like I am transcribing a song when I am writing.
Some of the weird ones like Gift me Heaven (https://sabiscuit.wordpress.com/2015/06/01/giftmeheavenfleursdesade/) were compiled from random strings of phrases. A blog I was reading had a super fan/stalker and I found her comments hilarious. I printed out some of them, and for a chuckle, highlighted the most interesting phrases. Then, I reordered them in more or less chronological order. You should try it. It’s fun. For a mysterious feel, don’t explain the process in the post.

Thanks Karima for following. Nice post. Sun can’t reaches where, there reaches a poet’s imagination.

My pleasure Dolly and I like that expression because it’s so true; Our imaginations can go anywhere, even in a dark room, where the sun is shut out!
