A Reblog of “Her Name Was Noor” from 2011

I wrote this poem in 2011 and Natascha Randt, who had not formally met me yet, came to my reading and recorded it. The quality of the film is very low resolution, but I think the audio is fine.
The poem was inspired by the last image, “Sniper” by Sigfred Rodenberger
I always had a very hard time reading this one in public.

Compassion First!

“War Child” by Dale Innis on Midjourney AI Art

Compassion First
(for the children of war)

If we learn nothing else
on our time on earth
for the survival of humanity
let it be compassion.

It’s as needed right now
as much as carbon offset,
cleaning up the seas
pure air and save the trees.

Clean air and water
mean nothing today
if we take them away
waging war.

If some are hurt
help them
if they cry, console.
How hard can that be?

But we harden our hearts
put on detached blindfolds
and shield ourselves
from the truth of their reality.

For the survival
of our human race
just some compassion

your compassion
but compassion first…..

Gino’s Butterfly by Karima Hoisan & Dale Innis.

I have pulled myself out of the virtual after being lost in it all last week, to share what I have been up to:)
I have been filming a very special world, a personal world I built in January of 2020. Gino’s Butterfly was begun the very day Gino left us and was a big help in getting me through the sad period of loss.
The movie is about this world I built. It is a personal world for a beloved friend and family member.
Thanks to the scripting wonders of Dale, those who visit virtual worlds, can take the
“Tour of Gino’s Life” and those who don’t travel these realms, can experience it, by watching this video.

It’s Long for even for one of my longer movies, 10 minutes to be exact, so take a break, make popcorn and see the rest, after a brief intermission, but do see it to the end. You will understand the title if you do.. I decided not to divide it into two videos, to keep the continuity of Gino’s life being portrayed.
Please watch in Fullscreen, 4K Resolution with good audio.
Likes and comments here or/and on YouTube are much cherished ❤️ Enjoy!!

“Three Pieces of Karima” By Thirza Ember-on Blogspot

Good Morning!!
Happy Monday:) I am excited to share this blogpost that was written by a very well known and well loved blogger, who writes exclusively about what is happening in the virtual platform of Opensim,
(where I build my crazy worlds) that I have been spoon-feeding my readers for the last month:)
Unfortunately, BlogSpot will not let me reblog this post on my WordPress..so..I will include a few screenshots and the url if you would like to see it in the original.:)
This is the original post HERE

I am honored that Thirza took time out of her very busy virtual life to turn the focus on our worlds and YouTubes.. We are looking forward to hosting a group of usually 20 people+ in February on The Mountain. Can you imagine 20 eagles flying in the sky at once? WOOOOOO!
PS Here is my YouTube Channel if you’d like to subscribe and get all my latest videos:)

All My Boats by Karima Hoisan & Dale Innis

So I’m going happily insane making these videos, losing myself in the worlds, trying to figure how to capture them and keep them under 8 minutes (which has not been easy)
Do you feel I have been over-feeding you all on my YouTubes?
I know they are coming fast & furious, but they are a mixed variety of plates, so hopefully I can entice you to see this one too.
This world was built in 2016 right after I wrote the poem. I have been performing it in the virtual since then and always to this music. I knew they would slap a copyright claim on it, but I HAD to use it as it is the ONLY music that fits for me and has much sentimental value. I avoided getting a strike and it seems it is only banned in Russia (where I bet I don’t have many followers)
Please watch in 4K Fullscreen and turn up the sound. I do suggest you watch it on YouTube. It is a Very colorful, reflective world, so sunglasses could be needed:)  I hope you enjoy it. Let us know, Likes and comments here and on YouTube are always welcome.
Footnote: As I say in the YouTube  info,  written back in 2016… Dale Innis is also very much part of the creation of my latest and 12th world on Kitely. Without his scripting and his ability to bring my vision to life, this world would never leave the dock:)  Thank you Dale for everything!
Get ready to sit comfortably for over 7 minutes and …ENJOY!!!

Polarized

WhatsApp Image 2023-11-09 at 4.13.23 PM

The Divide by Dale Innis on Midjourney AI Art

Polarized

You and I have children

that we love above our own lives.

You know, somewhere down the DNA highway, into the past

a few common strands would put me 50%

in the same DNA group  as you.

We might even be 3rd cousins, twice removed.

But today,

We stand on the opposite sides of the Jordan River

on two sides of an abyss, this divide

that clouds our eyesight .

Everything has become so polarized

“If you’re not with us; you’re against us

We now are unable to see the same scene

and see it the same.

Polarized, our hearts break daily, uncertainty reigns.

We are horrified at unfolding events

We are frustrated, anguished and powerless.

We can’t even discuss it across the gaping gorge

Not today, not tomorrow, perhaps never….or perhaps some day…

So we talk about our poetry and show support for creativity

Because, my heart always has your back..I hope for your best…

and I hope you know that.

Maybe the poles that drag us to one side or the other

will cease to be, and will mend, this separation,

that makes it impossible for me to even talk about it…..

and divides so many of us today….like you and me.

In Your Head by Karima Hoisan & Dale Innis

Hi everyone,
it seems I just keep insisting with these YouTubes of my virtual worlds.. and I know, for many it’s not your “cup of tea” on a, primarily, blog for poetry, but what I can I say?  Virtual videos, Machinima, is a way of  creating visual poetry, just not using words sometimes.. This is one of those and I hope you will be intrigued by the concept.
As I say on the World Page “Welcome to” In Your Head”…a trip inside two sides of the same sim-wide head. Jump on the tour and enjoy spiraling DNA, thoughts of love and ordered boxes, Sushi and strange rooms and smells of chocolate chip cookies and the color of analysis. Your creators, Karima Hoisan  and Dale Innis, hope you will savor your ride, while you fly and bump through our minds. As in all my worlds, please have media set to play at all times(music plays on media) and region default settings for water and lighting.  This world was one of the first Dale & I did together, back in 2014, right after we made The Hudson Line.
For those of you just viewing the YouTube..Watch it on a large screen if you can and in 4K…It’s made with high resolution to look nice on your big flat -screen TVs:):)

The Hudson Line by Karima Hoisan & Dale Innis

Screenshot 2023-11-03 at 11.30.11 AM

Hi everyone,

I invite you to to enjoy our latest YouTube about our Kitely Virtual Worlds. This is # 4!!
Please watch Fullscreen and in 4K resolution: Fasten your seatbelts!!!
This is one of our silliest worlds and therefore movies:)

The Hudson line is a collaborative creation by poet Karima Hoisan and scripter Dale Innis.
It is one of the early worlds of mine, built in 2014 and very much in a primitive, retro-prim style:)
Based loosely and surrealistically off of a train line from Tarrytown New York to Manhattan, it is a fanciful flight of fancy at every station.
After your ride feel free to explore and find the many cozy places: Climb the fire-tower, dance salsa at the Spanish Harlem Club, fish near the pilings..make a picnic in the woods..

Enjoy your ride and don’t forget to stand when you get to the End of the Line:)

*A very special thanks to Arcadia Asylum and Linda Kellie for all their marvelous and free builds they share with everyone. More information and inspiration in my blog post:

In The Night of My Calling

“Monochrome Girl” by Dale Innis on Midjourney AI

In The Night of My Calling

In the night of my calling.
I only pretended to be awake.
Something deep inside me
that has never awakened
kept holding me down
at the bottom of my sleep.

It was a safe still bed
below the silver shining veil
I had no need to breathe or speak.
I was not in a form
that required maintenance
or anything much of me.

It came like a rumble
this calling that reached me.
It begged to be let in
to be welcomed
to brush its hair
and give thanks
to dry the tears
to look a stranger in the eye
touch them and say,
“I’m so glad you’re finally here.”

I felt almost human and seen
tears ran down my face;
they pumped through my veins
Every single suffering person
in the whole world
knocked on my door
at the same moment
saying “We can’t any longer”

And I let them in.
I let them into my heart

for as long as I could hold them.
Then they stopped their crying
and in that moment
they felt totally safe;
they were totally safe.
They were here, then they were gone.
And I felt a great emptiness inside…

Because, now there was no doubt…
I was totally wide awake.

The Mountain By Karima Hoisan & Dale Innis

thumbnail
Hi Everyone,

I have a special YouTube to share of another of my favorite worlds we have built.
It is set in a fantasy-quasi Philippine countryside (in my wild imagination:) and has two very important elements that star. …plus a spoken word poem of mine.
First of all…..
All the Art.. ALL of the paintings that you see, even some land textures, are by one inspired artist, Markus Akesson from Sweden. I was introduced to him, when I looked for an image for my poem, Insomnia https://karimahoisan.wordpress.com/2019/02/01/insomnia/ After that, I fell in love with almost everything he has painted, and tried to create spaces here to exhibit his outstanding talent in a unique way. You can find out more about him, by going to his website: http://markusakesson.com/
Secondly…
A very rare & beautiful eagle…who has inspired the poem you will hear:
This world is an act of love for his paintings as well as a special bird you will meet soon:) I am very grateful to Markus for giving me his blessing for this project and permission to display his paintings on my world. “Sharing is Caring” Enjoy your experience!!
Sit back and relax to the gorgeous music by Karunesh, “Inner Journey” and experience the flight in 4K and Fullscreen please.
Everything that moves on this world, moves because of Dale:)  and then… I did the rest:):)
Enjoy and let us know here or on YouTube if you liked this world:)
