Maki saved from dogs June 9 2021 at 5 weeks old, killed by dogs March 29, 2024 I will miss him terribly. He was a very very special cat to me. Maktoob, he was destined to be ours for just 3 wonderful years. Our beloved housecat who got out and met his death today…..and took my heart with him:(
What I have left in the past now no longer exists, as Time only goes forward. What is in my past can not stay the same; it no longer is what I remember although, I remember it in this way.
The place has changed the kids are now grown my little nephews playing video games are now doctors and married living out of the country, rarely returning.
My memory can try to fix them in place timidly knocking on my door asking, “Auntie do you have something delicious?” I would welcome them in and display my well stocked treat-shelves where each could chose one.
Now they are performing appendectomies, traveling or working abroad putting too many hours into other things maybe barely seeing their own families That room where Auntie received them has been repurposed for something else and she goes away for too many years, so that some of them barely remember her.
When she comes back into their lives they all are happy to see her, but they are no longer who they were and she no longer looks like what they remember. They have had so many years without
a true shared history that the scenes from the past feel more like a movie they all saw way back when.
It was a movie that left a good feeling but it now feels more like make-believe, an idyllic moment captured briefly but still…… there are many hugs and kisses and joyous greetings; everyone is so happy to see each other once again. Because, in the end. the faraway family is outside of time and space; it lives wholly, locked in our hearts in an ever-changing state of mind.

Paper Thin for my family in Jordan in Ramadan
Paper thin, I’m barely here, and you no longer see me. The night breathes in, out and in, with windows open wide, just an alien, walking through a rational land; it’s getting lonely.,, just an alien, walking through a rational land; it’s getting lonely.
Those who glow seem far away, while darkness holds me close. I remember all the voices, how we bent as one, falling to our knees, hospitable and always generous, food cascading from our hands…
hospitable and always generous, food cascading from our hands.
My home planet, circles another sun, a trillion billion miles from here order and chaos alternately reign, and yet we know the Love. The last time I departed, I knew it would be a lifetime to return….
The last time I departed, I knew it would be a lifetime to return.
Paper thin and light as air, I miss the other ones who float like me. I get lost in all those memories, all those rituals, traditions and epiphanies, waking before the dawn, knowing there is something that listens…when I say thank you. waking before the dawn, knowing there is something that listens…when I say thank you.
My home planet, circles another sun, a trillion billion miles from here order and chaos alternately reign, and yet we know the Love. The last time I departed, I knew it would be a lifetime to return…. The last time I departed, I knew it would be a lifetime to return.

“Birds After The Rain” by Dale Innis on Midjourney AI Art
A Shower In The Dry Season
The ground flat on its back with it’s mouth open… every tree stretching to get its fair share. Brown parched lawn smells like, wet hay in the Spring-Time. Asacred elixir falls, the rain turns golden-green,against the setting sunset. Mini-waterfalls from roof corners coming down the drain spout, gifting a wet lush rebirth to the parched earth below . The barometer drops, the birds stay up to feel the wet leaves surround them.
They open their beaks to let each precious bead drip down their throats. Singing all day, every day and no soothing drops to wet their song,… dry and drier and drying up this dry season was too dry and then…… this afternoon after 6 weeks of arid wind and sun, a small thunderstom blows in and when it is done, it turns into a thankful green glow, that reflects the setting sun. Then the thirsty earth and all of us standing on top of it, heave one big thankful sigh of satisfaction and gratefulness in unison. “It’s raining!!” “Oh, thank God; it’s raining!”
*Footnote: Costa Rica has 2 Seasons: The Rainy Season & The Dry Season. The Dry Season lasts from January through the end of March. It rarely rains and this year it has not rained for 8 weeks,,,until today:):)
Ramadan Mubarak! Ramadan Kareem! For all Muslims all over the world, for my family in Jordan, I wish you a Blessed Ramadan & a Generous Ramadan InshAllah 🙏
Hi everyone, well it seems my new passion is making music and music videos..
I hope you will indulge me until this stage passes:)
“Brisa Tropical” is an original song and poem I wrote about my favorite place to escape to.
The video was sort of an afterthought, but when Dale showed me some beach images he made in AI Art, I was hooked to make it a music video/ spoken word video. Please watch in 4K as it has real pretty colors:)
Thanks again to Dale for the background images. A special thanks to James Ottobre for sending me that darling picture of two baby animals. I created the music and voice over on Garage Band…Hope you will enjoy a little day at the beach with me:) PS Fred the tap dancing Gecko is the twin brother of one Menu has in his video room. The frog rain was made by Menubar too:)

“Alien Orchid” by the artist Jan Betts signed March 1, 2024
*Jan Betts is my best friend in Costa Rica. She has known me since the 1970’s starting in Hollywood and then we both landed in Costa Rica, just a few years apart. She is one of my favorite artists and as soon as I saw this painting…I knew it would be a poem.
Alien Orchid
Warm pastels like an Easter resurrection a subtle flame still lit but barely an alien orchid comes to visit our world in this time of death and despair in this time when bleakness drains all color her message in her over- flowing tears… “Don’t lose hope.”
I have come from far and seen too much But I am here to replenish the desert of your soul and make it bloom. In my world, growth is love and it saves in your world, injustice kills and prevails but even when your world looks like it will end Don’t lose hope.
I am life in a dying moment, and I am right on time. Refresh and heal through my compassion I cry with you and teach you that your tears can make a change. Like an open prayer, stop to breathe the air Don’t lose hope.
The Fish Sissies- 3 Pisces Women Who Met in Second Life 16 Years Ago!!
Today I share a special treat with my WordPress Family:)
A Memorial, a Celebration of a very special friendship:) This is a tribute lovingly made by me to mark a 16 year milestone in the virtual friendship of 3 Pisces who met in Second Life in 2008. I am in Costa Rica, Diz in The Midwest USA and Suze in South Africa. We have Never met personally…but that doesn’t seem to matter. It is a testimony to virtual friendships in general and to Second Life in particular that brought us all together. Enjoy some old retro photos, my original music written on Garage Band, a poem I wrote for the occasion and The Original Fish Sissies reunited and dancing today, together in 2024. If you’re wondering what those adorable little fishy backup singers are singing…it’s just “Bum Stosh Yahh… Bum Stosh aiy yah yah” and it’s very catchy. Thanks to Dale Innis once again for his great and varied AI Fish Art (Midjourney) Turn it up and have fun:) We did!!
Oh, and watch in 1080 HD please…just looks better:) Enjoy! (Likes & Comments on YouTube always very appreciated)
