Klara by Dale Innis & Karima Hoisan

Very excited to share with you all, this off-beat, pretty long (almost 10 minutes) surreal video collaboration with Dale Innis
Those of you who read me regularly, know that Dale Innis is a scripter friend who has collaborated with me and also with Natascha & I for the last 10 years and lately has been dabbling in all sorts of AI Art, especially MidJourney, which is a veritable game-changer in this blossoming field.
He showed me a pdf file of slides and a story-line, that he had made and I fell in love…fell obsessed, is a better word, to try to bring this to a way more people could see it.
This is how the project was born. I found, what we both agree, is the perfect music   Meditative Music and I made a voice-over and edited the slides into what you’ll see below.
This is a very slow- moving, haunting, visually beautiful, relaxing, meditative, bizarre almost alien feeling story.
Please get comfy, take out 10 minutes and enjoy it with a good headset and on Fullscreen HD.
I promise you won’t regret watching…this is something very unique & new…..
We present to you…Klara

That Black High-Necked Dress

“Intricate Goth Portrait” by Dale Innis

That Black High-Necked Dress

I know you..I was you
and the first time I laid my eyes
on your face,
I was drawn to you..
one might say obsessively,
I might say that too.
I admit your whole scene
drew me into you.. because
at one time, I was you
lost in the pages of Edgar Allan Poe.

Death was the homework
I imposed on myself
and I was gathering
every scrap of truth
to what it could really mean
because it made no sense to me.
My clothes went darker
for my father’s funeral;
at eleven. I dressed like
a Greek villager in mourning.
At home from school,
I would change into
that black high-necked dress
that I wore,
the last time I saw his face
lying in his coffin
he winked at me…
it was like he let me in
on an elaborate joke…
that soon the whole world
would finally see
He hadn’t died at all..
but he only told me,
so,
I knew he would return
and I waited
and waited
and waited.
My nose bleeds started then
and my mother grew worried
and told me
“Take off that damn dress
It’s so depressing.”

So of course,
when I laid my eyes on you…
I saw me,
I think you saw me too;
and soon you will hang
on a wall of my room…
sad pensive,
sensitive,
looking at me
through your down-turned
eyes,
to always remind me.
how once you were me
and that a part of me,
was and always will be…

you.

AI Dreams in Goth-Mini-Installation for Halloween

battyot_003 2

A small guessing game.. What does the picture depict?
1. A large ottoman for couch watching videos?
2. A feathered cookie jar with a built in radio?
3. An entire Goth multi-media experience, wrapped up and ready for transport?
If you picked 3….you are right on the money!!

This is our contribution (AI artist Dale Innis) and yours truly to a fabulous, multi-media mini set of our AI Goth exhibit that I have been writing about a lot lately:)  This might be the last post on the subject and then…back to poetry:)

Here is our event poster to announce our participation..made by Dale.
This is a video I made last night, before Dale cleverly transported the whole
show and dropped it down, where it will form part of a big Virtual Party.
Fullscreen please and a good headset:) Music by Indus from”The Dead Can Dance”

The whole enclosed set finally landed, looking like a dark sewing basket, on a bright colored sea in a virtual world called, Immersion Island, on Kitely Virtual Worlds, owned by Mike McHugh…way ahead of time for the party on October 27th!!
mikes_012

This is a Mash-Up of many talented people contributing what they do
to a great virtual Community Halloween Party.
Thank you Mike for your help in setting up and your invitation to us to form part of the fun:)
One more shout out to Kimm Starr whose Animesh avatars grace and star in our little installation. Bram Stoker’s Dracula is….of course the Ringmaster.
Here is the invitation below.  Take a Chance…Come Join The Fun!!

Pirate

Strong Female Pirate by Dale Innis on Midjourney

If I would have met you…just anywhere in my life,
a bar, at the produce market or merely walking down the street,
I would have thrown myself at your feet
“ Hello! Yes please!”
Make me a pirate just like you.

Just looking into your eyes, I can sail the oceans
you have seen,
the last light of the day
when the sun steams on the horizon
where it’s put down, under, until the next day.
I hang off your arm, like an extension of your blouse
Gorgeous pirate that makes me dream
of the rolling sunrise, rolling over by your side,

There is no doubt in my mind we were meant
to watch shows together, we can’t get on Netflix;
to cruise those forbidden seas , dodging the authorities.
My country is labeled a pirate sanctuary..and I have no doubt
yours is at the top of the list.
“You’re not allowed to see this in your country”
is our new National Anthem.

Forgive me,
for my boldness, but I have no doubt,
between the two of us,,.
we can figure out a way
to not miss one single episode,
just because, Prime, Hulu, FX and HBO
have labeled us renegades.
I’d gladly go to the gallows in your arms,
You drop-dead gorgeous. rebellious, charismatic pirate…. you.

When AI Art Inspires Avatar Art

Soo… on the new virtual world we launched on September 4th of this year :
AI DREAMS IN ART , we had an illustrious virtual creator come and fall in love with our
AI art installation….especially our Gothic Gallery (Halloween is coming after all):)
Kimm Starr is also a resident on Kitely Virtual Worlds and she is a total master in the art of making Animesh. What is Animesh you ask?  Well, Animesh, in a virtual world is a way of letting objects use rigged mesh and animations just like our avatars can. This gives creators the ability to design objects that can move like avatars….all kinds of objects and Kim is one of the best I have seen!

She chose him….
WhatsApp Image 2022-09-11 at 1.48.03 PM
and she chose her..
and created Animesh Avatars that move and in Goth Girl’s case, speak, without anyone controlling them. They are self contained (soulless  I say) avatars that can be used for staging scenes, on our worlds, used as extras in machinima, or just fun to have around..Like a robot you designed yourself:)
Post Guygothhot_007

Now, when you visit you can take home, not only the art displayed(free to copy) but also two amazing gifts inspired by these two AI portraits.
3girlgothhot_002

Goth Girl speaks in her Emo voice and is fascinating to listen to how misunderstood she feels she is:)  If you get tired of listening, you can turn her off:) Her facial and body gestures are so perfect for her image..
Kimm includes this explanation in each Animesh that we use on our gift box…zoom in:)

So, come visit and take a walk in our woods….

Woodsot_002 2

You never know who or what you might meet there…lurking in the branches and the shadows
and the darkness and ..and..hopefully they will all be in a good mood and happy to see you  Muahahaha

Some…maybe not as much as others:)

Muahahaha

* Kimm Starr is owner of “Virtual Vignette Animesh” and it is available on the Kitely Market.

Narcissus

Narcissus

(for the artist who painted “Narcisse 11”  iekocatnap)

(please click play to hear my recitation to the music of
Angelo Badalamenti, “Mulholland Drive Love Theme”

In the stilled waters of a liquid mirror,

he found love like a floating swan,
paddling through himself,
the night hanging cloudless above him.
He found love, jealous madness and poetry
and the moonlight shined in stripes
through the bending bars of his glorious prison.

He lost himself completely
in what he knew like his own sighs,
her night blue dream-filled eyes.
They kissed in poems of fuchsia’s passion
rosed now, the waters that covered his face,
his lip bleeding from too much feeling.
He watched her under him trembling,
copying his every expression.
Hours turned back to seconds,
now he was sure, he knew her more
than he knew his own obsession.
He sentenced himself to stay with her
night and day…and there was only her.

Wild words poured into his mind,
Oh! They made him open his mouth
to spill his ecstasy, and he let them
fall upon her off his tongue in single drops.
Her entire body trembled in
widening, spreading circles
until they faded in the shadows to a stop.

Thoughts called in notes of music and he was tempted,
to sail the seas to cool dark places,
rooms inside his mind being decorated,
before he could arrive..and every door he opened
was to invite her in and stay with him.
There was no pulling himself away, how could he?

not tomorrow…not possible today.
The key to love lay in the eyes that blinked back at him.
All the keys to the mysteries were
held inside her shifting beauty,
underneath the moonlight

washed in stripes.
He whispered it out loud now,

“Soul mate, you are in me”

Nights he passed close to her side,
so as not to disturb her silent rest,
even water for his thirst was self- denied.
and hunger became meaningless.
There was only her face
and the longing song

to join him.
Days were pages bound quickly into weeks,
flowers fell from the trees and covered him.
One moonless night he finally cried.
“Soul mate, I am in you”
Then slipping down into the waters
of his liquid mirror,
he closed his love-worn eyes,
surrendered to her peacefully and died.

*Footnote
iekocatnap was one of my favorite Virtual/Real Life artists.
She is from France and I met her in Second Life and was
captivated from the start. She also did the painting Tierra Dorada
which I posted recently)

Tierra Dorada – Golden Land

We have just re-met in the last few days on Opensim and she also has a new
world there, I am anxious to see. She visited my AI Art world last night and loved it.
11 years ago this was a favorite recital piece for my live shows, but until today,
I had never recorded it. I hope you enjoy it , even if my voice has not totally recovered 100% from Covid.

Full – Circle

Time Has Come Full-Circle

Time Has Come Full – Circle” by Dale Innis

 Full – Circle

Maybe it was in another time
another life, another book
I read to fill my mind

but you were just as real
as when you were real
and you were really mine.

My night was a new moon loop
and you were trapped inside
round n round we went at midnight.

I always let you in;
how could I keep you out?
You still breathed within my mind.

I closed my eyes and waltzed you
that graceful dance you loved so much
like when you left on your last breath.

We knocked over the flowers,
the vases were falling to the ground…
Who says there’s no passion after death?

Now…..Fly!

                                        Image “Birds” by Dale Innis

Funny how I knew
you would adorn my poem today.
Your one-eyed glance to the side
just caught my attention;
I feel you lightly perched on my cilia
that waves in the breeze of my mind.

I would wait, if I were you,
before
launching your flapping to the sky.
Raptors are gliding and you would be
an awkward easy prey.

Stay with me awhile,
I feel you comforting
as you remind me…
how my mind connects so easily
to you and your species
to you and your manifestation;
you hatched full-plumed
from the mind of my over-active
imagination.

We have so much that joins
and yet
you are of the open skies
and I,
your creator,
expect to be left behind..

It’s fine you know…                                               fly
When the time is right                                      fly
You’ll know it when it comes                       fly
Now………..                                              fly
Fly!……………………………….. .. fly

One -Way Door

Fc9Igf_WYAAqzDp

Path to Glory  by Dale Innis

One-Way Door

I still miss you
and
I shouldn’t.
My dreams obey no laws
of physics
or logic
and I still want you
here with me.

People who have
passed over
to the other side
ask me for favors
and I oblige.

I am never surprised
they are back
but maybe they’re not
and it’s I
who have just gone
ahead…
pushed my way
through a one-way door
so I can
entertain the dead.

I have passed beyond
my dreams
into the land
we almost never see
until we finally
close our eyes,
that mist and veil
we call
the other side.

Now people long gone
briefly interact,
and I wonder
if I call them
or they call me?
Is this only nostalgia
or perhaps
a preparation
I was not yet
prepared
to see?

Are all of these
sleeping journeys
just to make the
passage easy
when some night,
that one-way door,
at the moment

that I step through…
will softly
close behind me?

Just a Note

Hi everyone,
just a note to tell you I have been pretty offline and off WordPress for a week with an eye
problem. I don’t need surgery again (Alhamduillah) but until I get some special glasses next week, I can’t be on much as it stains it.
So don’t worry about me and I will be back reading your posts and writing my own again soon:) Inshallah 🙏

Love,
Karima
